Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp stepped onto the stage together in Berlin today for a photocall to promote The Tourist. Despite a lackluster opening weekend at the box office and rough reviews across the board, the film scored three Golden Globe nominations this morning! Angelina and Johnny nabbed nods in Best Actress and Best Actor, respectively, and it's up for Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical. Johnny is competing against himself, also getting recognized for his work in Alice in Wonderland. The Jolie-Pitts arrived in Germany after a short stop in France, where Angelina brought Pax and Maddox grocery shopping last Friday. They're planning on spending Christmas in a new country, but apparently they may be putting LA on the January itinerary to hit the red carpet at the Globes on Sunday the 16th.

The Chronicles of Narnia may not have the same box office power as the Harry Potter franchise, but an unimpressive $24.5 million was still enough for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader to take the crown. Bad reviews for The Tourist put a damper on the power of Jolie and Depp, as their film debuted in second with $17 million. Tangled slid to third place with $14.6 million, pushing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I down to fourth with $8.5 million. Fifth place went to Unstoppable with $3.7 million.
Black Swan continued to pick up momentum in limited release, taking in $3.3 million across only 90 screens for sixth place. The film is expected to pick up even more steam when it goes wide on Dec. 22.

To say there's been much anticipation for The Tourist — the thriller/romance starring Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp — is putting it mildly. When you have two actors of this caliber as love interests, you're bound to generate buzz. Unfortunately, star power isn't enough to save this disappointing film.
Adapted from the French film Anthony Zimmer, the story centers around Elise (Jolie), a woman caught in a cat-and-mouse game with authorities (led by Paul Bettany) after her lover Alexander steals billions from his mob boss. Alexander has undergone plastic surgery while on the lam, so the police no longer know what he looks like. To aide their search, they trail Elise in the hopes that she'll lead them to him. Elise is all too aware that she's being followed, so to get them off Alexander's scent, she strikes up conversation with a bumbling American named Frank (Depp), convincing her onlookers that he's the man they seek.

Angelina Jolie's interview with Matt Lauer for The Today Show to promote The Tourist aired this morning. During this press tour she's taken on edgier topics like plastic surgery and Brad's political ambitions, but this time she stuck with talking about how much fun it was to work with Johnny Depp and her dreams for her kids. She also shared her hopes that as she gets older she's "become a better woman" and that in the future her life will be "more private." Angelina opened up about her children, saying that she wants them to continue to "be the strong, beautiful individuals that they are today, and be happy in their lives; be fulfilled in their lives and be living their lives honestly." Angelina and Brad joined Johnny, Paul Bettany, and Jennifer Connelly at last night's glamorous NYC premiere of the film, and there's just a few more days to wait until it hits theaters on Friday.
Angelina Jolie premiered The Tourist in NYC last night, but before she and Brad brought their twins to the city, she graciously promoted the movie overseas. Angelina gave an in-depth interview about her family life, Brad's political aspirations, and her thoughts on plastic surgery. She says she and Brad will work together again "one day," but for now she's all about praising her costar Johnny Depp as well as their wonderful experience on location in Venice. The film hits theaters on Friday, and here are highlights from Angelina:

Angelina Jolie managed to find a gown to stay warm in, a cream-colored angora Atelier Versace with a dangerously high slit, for the NYC premiere of The Tourist this evening. She accessorized with earrings by Robert Procop, with whom she just announced a new jewelry line collaboration. She had her sexy other half, Brad Pitt, on her arm and costar Johnny Depp just a few feet away on the red carpet. Angelina and Brad arrived in the city over the weekend and wasted no time bringing Knox and Vivienne to pick up art supplies on the latest stop in the family's jet-setting year. Today, Angelina's name is back in headlines, though the controversy is not of her making. Angelina's promotional tour will bring her to The Today Show in the morning while Johnny's stopping by to chat with David Letterman tomorrow afternoon. Johnny and Angelina have shared tons of glowing words about each other during their promotional tour, while also giving fans a peek into their own experiences making the movie. Their first big-screen collaboration hits theaters on Friday, when we'll see if the A-list team can dominate the box office together.
