Justin, Jessica, and Jimmy Bring the Party to the Time 100 Gala

Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon kept the party going at the Time 100 Gala in NYC last night.

Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon kept the party going at the Time 100 Gala in NYC last night. The two friends, who were named two of the magazine's 100 most influential people in the world this year, were joined by Justin's wife, a Tom Ford-clad Jessica Biel, and a Lanvin-wearing Claire Danes. Also out were honorees Lena Dunham and Vice President Joe Biden, who took the chance to work the room of Hollywood stars. Other guests included Amy Poehler, Steven Spielberg, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Christina Aguilera, who performed at the event and hobnobbed with Lena on the red carpet.

Inside the bash, the stars wasted no time celebrating the honorees. Justin and Jimmy danced around the room and goofed off with Amy and musician Frank Ocean. Lena commented on getting on the Time 100 list, saying that the first person she told about being on the list was her father. She said, "I called my dad because he was a layout editor at Time in the 1970s, so I was super psyched, and I wanted to tell him that I was making good in his former institution. I heard there was a drinks cart when he worked there." Meanwhile, Daniel, who picked up the best actor award at this year's Oscars, commented that he is "more than mildly astonished" that he landed on the list.

Time magazine's annual list of the world's 100 most influential people includes a handful of some of the industry's most beloved characters, including Jenna Lyons and Michael Kors.

But it's not just designers who represent the fashion community on this year's list. Tadashi Yanai, the influential CEO of Fast Retailing — which backs Helmut Lang, Theory, and Uniqlo — is also on the list, and so is the Oscar-winning face of Miss Dior, Jennifer Lawrence. And while they might not have made the list this year, Prabal Gurung and Zac Posen made contributions to the list by writing about Lyons and Kors, respectively.

Last night's Time 100 gala not only celebrated its 2012 list of most influential people, but it also drew an insanely influential crowd to its party. While we were hoping that list honorees Pippa and Kate Middleton would surprise us all with an appearance, we were just as pleased to spot the likes of Claire Danes in head-to-toe Lanvin and Rihanna in a princess-worthy pink Marchesa dress and Christian Louboutin heels. But they weren't the only ones to impress us with their red-carpet style — Kristen Wiig donned a black lace Stella McCartney jumpsuit and Gucci T-bar sandals, Georgina Chapman posed in one of her own frothy white frocks, and Lauren Bush stunned in a chic white floor-length gown. Suffice it to say, the evening was not short on glamour or A-list power. Now, it's time for you to decide who earned the title of Time 100 gala's best-dressed attendee.

Sarah Burton and Spanx Inventor Sarah Blakely Named to Time 100 List

>> Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen and Spanx inventor Sarah Blakely are the only two names in fashion to land on Time's annual list of the world's 100 most influential people.

>> Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen and Spanx inventor Sarah Blakely are the only two names in fashion to land on Time's annual list of the world's 100 most influential people.

Burton famously designed the wedding dress Kate Middleton wore when she married Prince William last year, and has been running Alexander McQueen since its founder Lee McQueen committed suicide in 2010. In the entry accompanying Burton's name, Sarah Jessica Parker — a longtime McQueen supporter — celebrates Burton's dedication to her craft. "She thinks about women and art and stories, weaves her tale into the future of fashion," Parker writes. "On the runway she is inspired."

Journalist Katie Couric penned Blakely's entry, in which she jokingly points out that Blakely doesn't need to wear her own waist-slimming products. "Poor thing," Couric writes, "She was a size 2 when the idea hit her."

The list honors other fashionable women who aren't in the industry — Viola Davis, Claire Danes, Rihanna, Adele, Pippa Middleton, and Kate Middleton are all included. An increase to two fashion names on the list is an improvement over last year; in 2011, Tom Ford was the only designer on the Time 100.

But Time hasn't forgotten about the runway set. The magazine recently released a list of the world's 100 greatest fashion icons, which includes Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell, Steven Meisel, and Coco Chanel, among others.

Mariah Serenades Time's 100 Most Influential

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon made their first public appearance as husband and wife last night, and what better place to do it than the Time 100 Most Influential People party.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon made their first public appearance as husband and wife last night, and what better place to do it than the Time 100 Most Influential People party. Mariah performed for the crowd with her bejeweled and tattooed man watching alongside some very big names. While we're missing some of the Hollywood bigshots who made the list, Robert Downey Jr. has to be riding high on the success of Iron Man. Also love a little Tina Fey while Lance Armstrong always looks a little surprising off the bike and in a suit. As usual, the brainpower in the room was incredible between so many extraordinary people.
