Karl Lagerfeld on Jackie O's Chanel Knockoff, Daphne Guinness's Reading List

  • Karl Lagerfeld said in a recent interview that the pink Chanel suit Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis wore when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 was actually a knockoff. But a little investigative digging reveals that the iconic suit was actually made to Chanel's specifications with fabric Chanel sent to a tailor in New Jersey. [Fashionista]

  • The reason Daphne Guinness has been sending so many erudite-sounding tweets lately is because she's actually been quoting famous books and poems. Highlights include excerpts from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar and Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra — all cut down to 140 characters or fewer, of course. [The Cut]

  • Madonna's commercial for her new fragrance, Truth or Dare, has been making waves with TV network executives for being too risque. ABC reportedly asked for the bra she wears in the commercial to be "digitally made bigger, and to extend higher to cover more of her chest, and her corset longer to cover more of her bottom." [The Huffington Post]

  • Perfumer Jean-Paul Guerlain has been fined a grand total of $24,000 for making racist remarks on French television last year while describing how hard he worked on his iconic scent Samsara. The fine was split up among the French government and three antiracism organizations that sued Guerlain after his gaffe. [Styleite]

On Her Madge-sty's Service: All About Madonna's New Perfume

There are a lot of celebrity fragrances out there, but Madonna isn't just any famous face.

There are a lot of celebrity fragrances out there, but Madonna isn't just any famous face. So it follows that any perfume she'd make would be suitably fabulous. Her new scent, Truth or Dare, is definitely not what you'd expect from a celebrity endeavor — or even what you'd expect from the commercial above, for that matter. All the sexy fishnets and mirror gazing might lead you to believe that this is going to be a big, man-eating chypre (or, less optimistically, a particularly treacly fruity floral). Instead, the juice inside what has to be the best fragrance flacon of the young 21st century is decidedly . . . nicer.

In place of something aggressive and borderline feral, it's a pretty, slightly powdery jasmine with faint traces of spicy gardenia running underneath. It's actually more vintage than modern, a sort of sentimentality you wouldn't expect from Madonna. Truth or Dare bows at Macy's in April, where we daresay you should go ahead and give it a sniff.

What We Think Madonna Will Design For Her New Truth or Dare Fashion Line

If Madonna's Material Girl collection was a little too young for your taste, you might be interested in her upcoming line, called Truth or Dare — the same name as the performer's '91 documentary film about her 1990 Blond Ambition World Tour.
Madonna Launching Truth or Dare Fashion Collection

If Madonna's Material Girl collection was a little too young for your taste, you might be interested in her upcoming line, called Truth or Dare — the same name as the performer's '91 documentary film about her 1990 Blond Ambition World Tour. "Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand," said Madonna. "The timing is right and I have found great partners in Iconix who can help translate my vision to reality." According to sources, the Truth or Dare collection, which will be available exclusively at Macy’s for the initial debut in 2012, is geared toward fashionable ladies between the ages of 27-50 "who have a timeless style and an innate sex appeal." The initial launch will include footwear, handbags, intimates, accessories, and fragrance. Photos aren't available yet, but judging from Madonna's iconic style, we're guessing it's going to feature some dazzling cross necklaces, fishnet tights, and chic pumps. Take a look at the slideshow to see some of Madonna's chic accessory choices.

Group Therapy: Awkward Aftermath of Skype Truth or Dare

I was chatting with my friends from another state for the second time via Skype. Everything was fine and fun until they proposed truth or dare. I chose truth and they chose dare so I dared them, the two guys, to peck on the lips. (There are 4 guys there.)

Anyways, after the one guy that I never knew until that night dared me to take off my shirt. It made things REALLY REALLY awkward. The only good part of the story is that the guy I have been digging on (despite the fact he lives so far away) was like, "No man I'd feel like a douche. Plus she's like my friend! I'm going to leave the room if she does it."

But I did not flash them because that would have been very weird. Anyway, the conversation died after I stalled for time and said no. It was complete silence so I quickly escaped! The guy that I said I was digging on, messaged me apologizing after. I don't even know how to react to this situation? Could I ever Skype with them again after this awkward occurrence? I need advice and input people!

Halle Berry grabbed two Diet Cokes and her script before heading back to her trailer on the set of Truth or Dare in LA yesterday. She filmed a series of scenes in a skintight miniskirt, though Halle changed into a monochromatic outfit when she was ready to leave the lot. Over the weekend Halle spent a peaceful afternoon with Nahla and a date night out with Olivier Martinez. Her Dark Tide costar and boyfriend hasn't joined her on any red carpets since stepping out as a couple at the Carousel of Hope Ball, but the two are still going strong.
