"From Ashton Kutcher and Tyra Banks . . ." Have more terrifying words ever been spoken? I watched part of the premiere of True Beauty last night, the new reality television show about a beauty contest with a twist. What the contestants don't know is that in addition to their outer beauty, they'll be judged on their "inner beauty," too. They brought in a "scientist" to measure the contestants' body parts and features to determine where in the good looks range they were. Secret etiquette and ethics challenges will determine their "inner beauty." This show is going to be a real winner . . .
No wonder Vanessa is smiling - her man was the most popular act at Z-100's annual Jingle Ball Christmas in NYC. While the event brought out many hot male performers like The Killers and The Fray, it was Nick that the girls went crazy for. Apparently Madison Square Garden was going wild for Mr Lachey. Although rockers the Fray dished up one of the top sets of the early show, it was Z's morning DJ Elvis Duran who found the crowd's weakness and took advantage of it as he introduced the Fray. "I heard Nick Lachey wants to perform naked."
The mention of Lachey, in combination with the word naked, made the gaggles of girls in the house squeal with surging hormones. While the Fray did well, especially on the song "How to Save a Life," it was Nick for whom they were panting.
Although Lachey was not in the headlining slot - that belonged to Furtado - it was clear that he was what the crowd wanted to see, naked or not.
Although he was a little too smooth on the pop and a little too sensitive during the ballads, it didn't matter to the young female Jingle Ballers who wiggled and jiggled out of their seats with puppy lust.
Nick may be a hot commodity but Vanessa doesn't look like she's too worried.
Nick and Vanessa spent all weekend celebrating their same birthday with several parties. The two dined at Koi last week, and then jetted off to Vegas to party over the weekend. But the weekend doesn't sound like it was as much fun for Nick as it was for Vanessa. TMZ reports:
The couple continued their never-ending birthday celebration in Sin City, where Vanessa and seven of her closest friends met up for a night of fine dining and fun. First stop was TAO Bistro, where the group dined on Chilean sea bass, satay chicken, pad thai noodles and some good 'ol Kobe beef. Afterward, the ladies headed upstairs to TAO nightclub, where Nick joined them around 1:30 AM. No word on why Nick missed dinner, but from the look of the pictures, Lachey wasn't in a party mood.
Vanessa seemed to be affected by Nick's bad mood -- she wasn't having as much fun as she'd been having with her chums prior to his arrival. Two hours later, the couple headed out, with Nick avoiding photogs by hiding behind two gigantic bodyguards.
