Sofia, Claire, and Julianna Cover Vanity Fair — With Downton's Lady Mary!
Claire Danes and Sofia Vergara have the honors of covering Vanity Fair's Women in TV issue. The May 2012 edition also features leading ladies from The Good Wife and Downton Abbey, Julianna Margulies and Michelle Dockery, respectively. Michelle, who plays Lady Mary on the hit UK series, spoke with the publication about when she knew she had a hit on her hands, and Modern Family's Sofia recounted a similar tale. Julianna first made her mark on TV back in the '90s on ER, and she spoke about the last episode she watched. Claire Danes, who's amazing on Showtime's Homeland, had similar '90s success with My So-Called Life. The ladies said:
- Julianna on the last ER episode she watched: "Oh my goodness. A full on episode was probably the last episode I did, where George Clooney goes — or I go to him — and we ride off into the sunset. And that was probably . . . 10 years ago!"
- Michelle on the cult status of Downton Abbey: "I think the first time I realized Downton Abbey was a hit was when I was sitting in a tea shop in New York, in Greenwich Village, and the couple next to me were talking about Downton Abbey — and then they recognized me."
- Sofia on when she knew Modern Family was going to last: "After the first episode aired, and I was getting recognized all over, the street, after the first week, so we all knew that it was a good one."

Oscars Afterparty: Diane Kruger
You can trust Diane Kruger to make a styled arrival — and her appearance at tonight's Vanity Fair Oscar fête didn't disappoint. Diane's elegant-cum-sultry red Calvin Klein gown gets a jolt of sexy via a plunging neckline and a peek at her pretty lace bralette, while she adds interest with a gold box clutch and a pair of intricate diamond drop earrings. Diane doesn't often shy away from making a statement on the red carpet — what do you think about this one?

Oscars Afterparty: Katie Holmes
Looking like a vision in jeweled teal tones, Katie Holmes stepped out at the Vanity Fair party in none other than Elie Saab. The strapless gown featured intricate beading at the bodice, which then flowed into a gorgeous chiffon train. The ornate quality of her dress made it so her accessories could be kept to the minimum flash factor. Thus, she adorned herself with just a single gold strand necklace, diamond stud earrings, an amethyst cocktail ring, and a white clutch. It's a polished look in a pretty peacock hue, but do you think this afterparty look is a home run?

Oscars Afterparty: Elizabeth Olsen
If there's one thing we can count on from Elizabeth Olsen, it's that we can always expect something fresh from her. Tonight's Vanity Fair party ensemble is just that — it's chic, elegant, but never tired or boring. Her Christian Dior black short-sleeved gown got a boost of quirky cool by way of its sheer-paneled skirt, complete with ruffled detail. For a sleek finish, she outfitted herself with a classic black purse from The Row and black Ferragamo pumps. Unlike some of Elizabeth's more embellished attires, this one was pared down and totally sophisticated. Are you into it?

Oscars Afterparty: January Jones
Mad Men actress January Jones brought her signature brand of blond bombshell glamour to the Vanity Fair Oscars party — this time, with a slightly darker retro twist. Her halter-style Wes Gordon gown featured a chic emerald top with a long, slick burgundy-striped skirt, cinched together with a wide black cummerbund-like belt. She wore a bold red lip, a 1920s-inspired bob, and sweet gold hoop earrings and carried a croc-infused clutch to polish off the look. It certainly invoked a moodier, dramatic kind of evening flair, but she pulled it off effortlessly. Do you agree?
