Jennifer Lopez Talks Divorce to VF — Still Interested in the Details or Have You Heard Enough Already?

Jennifer Lopez is on the cover of Vanity Fair's September 2011 issue, and granted the magazine is her first interview since splitting from husband Marc Anthony. Inside the edition, she spoke about their breakup and what made her decide to walk away. There have been plenty of stories since the news broke last month about why J Lo and Marc ended things, and now she's giving her side of the story. Jennifer said:

  • On knowing when to walk away: "It’s not that I didn’t love myself before. Sometimes we don’t realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself — if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now."
  • On her feelings toward Marc: "I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer. We actually work great together, and he was always very supportive. Together we could make magic — and we did. He will always be in our lives. He will always hold a special place in my heart as the father of my children."

  • Jennifer remained vague on just what prompted her to split from Marc. We're wondering, though, if you're interested in the nitty gritty of the reasons behind the split, or is this explanation sufficient to put the topic to rest. So tell us what you think — are you still interested in the details of J Lo's split, or have you heard enough already?

Gwyneth Paltrow showed some skin for the August issue of Vanity Fair, which contains a feature on celebs like Natalia Vodianova, Olivia Palermo, and more covered in diamonds. She sports baubles, fishnets, and not much else for this image. Gwyneth posed for the issue during a break from singing with the kids of Glee, promoting her cookbook My Father's Daughter, and hanging with her two kids, Apple and Moses. The racy picture is slightly different from the domestic, Goop-writing Gwyneth we've come to know lately. She looks amazing, but tell us what you think of the hot shot — tasteful or too much?

Emma Stone posed in a red and white bikini for the August edition of Vanity Fair, which is out in the US on July 5. The issue contains one of many interviews that Emma is sure to give this Summer, since she has three movies arriving in theaters between The Help, Friends With Benefits, and Crazy, Stupid, Love. Calling her a rising star seems to be an understatement, and Emma's getting used to her increasing levels of fame. She opened up inside the magazine about the public's interest in her personal life, especially with the news Emma Stone's dating Andrew Garfield. Emma also spoke about dealing with Hollywood's fad diets, and life in LA as a teenager. She said:

    • On learning to deal with questions about her personal life: "Talking about this stuff is pretty new. . . the only solution I’ve come to when it comes to things like that — the health of my family or dating, really personal things — is not to talk about it."
    • On the pressure to stay thin in Hollywood: "I’m definitely more conscious of it as I’ve gotten older. . . That [Tracy Anderson] diet, have you seen it? It’s like: Eat this diet, which is a palm-size piece of chicken and some beans, and work out two hours a day for the rest of your life."
    • On moving to Hollywood during high school and working in a dog bakery: "I think three people called my specific cookies inedible to their dogs. I’m not a super-talented dog baker. . . I did Superbad in what would’ve been my senior year. I was playing a senior, and had I graduated I would’ve missed that opportunity, and had I missed that opportunity I wouldn’t be here right now."

Justin Timberlake Tells Vanity Fair About "Significant" Jessica and Not Talking to Britney Amid Olsen Rumors

Justin Timberlake lounged for a photo shoot in the July issue of Vanity Fair, which features Mario Testino's new photo of Prince William and Kate Middleton on the cover. JT is starting to do interviews for his upcoming movie Friends With Benefits, which comes out on July 22. He shared his thoughts on both acting and making music, also touching on his youth as a badly behaved Mouseketeer with Ryan Gosling. JT got personal, too, saying that Jessica Biel is still close to his heart despite their breakup and that he hasn't spoken to ex Britney Spears in nearly a decade. There was no addressing, though, rumors that Justin Timberlake and Ashley Olsen are a new item. Justin Timberlake told Vanity Fair:

    • On his enduring affection for Jessica Biel: "She is the single-handedly most significant person in my life. In my 30 years, she is the most special person, O.K.? . . . I don't want to say much more, because I have to protect things that are dear to me — for instance, her."
    • On his relationship with Britney Spears: "I wish her the best — that goes without saying. We haven't spoken in 9 or 10 years . . . We were two birds of the same feather — small-town kids, doing the same thing. But then you become adults, and the way you were as kids doesn't make any sense. I won't speak on her, but at least for me, I was a totally different person. I just don't think we were normal; there was nothing normal about our existence. We spent way too much time being the biggest thing for teenyboppers."
    • On becoming very famous at a young age: "It was exciting that we were having so much success and we could do whatever we wanted. And I mean that about everybody: Backstreet Boys, 'NSync, Britney, Christina . . . At that time, we could literally go, 'Oh, man, let's go to Bali,' and we'd be on a plane to Bali. We were little kids with big toys. You do the math—that's not going to last . . . [On the set of The All-New Mickey Mouse Club] Ryan [Gosling] and I used to steal golf carts and go driving in the middle of the park to get milk shakes, and we never got in trouble for it. We thought we were big sh*t."

Top 1% Earns Almost a Quarter of Nation's Income

In the May issue of Vanity Fair, Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph E.

In the May issue of Vanity Fair, Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph E. Stiglitz collects some shocking statistics in his thought-provoking piece, "Of the 1%, by the 1%, For the 1%." According to Stiglitz, the top one percent of Americans, including business tycoons, congressmen, and banking execs, secure nearly a quarter of the country's income a year and controls 40 percent of the nation's wealth. On the other hand, the working man, with only a high school diploma, has seen a 12 percent decline in his income in the last 25 years. America is a beacon of income inequality, Stiglitz says, and while rich Republicans bemoan the reach of an oversize government, this is the same government — with all its partisanship and gridlock — that enables this economic disparity.

To see Stiglitz's ideas to help close the economic gap, read on.

Rob Lowe Goes Shirtless, Talks Tom Cruise, and Rehashes His Wild Past in Vanity Fair

Rob Lowe showed off the hot six-pack you love and looked every bit the sexy surfer on the Annie Leibovitz-lensed cover of Vanity Fair's May issue, which hits newsstands on the 5th.

Rob Lowe showed off the hot six-pack you love and looked every bit the sexy surfer on the Annie Leibovitz-lensed cover of Vanity Fair's May issue, which hits newsstands on the 5th. The Brat Pack icon and current Parks and Recreation star allowed part of his upcoming autobiography to be excerpted in the magazine, and Rob also opened up in an interview about his circle of friends during his teen years, which included Charlie Sheen, Sean Penn, and Tom Cruise. Rob didn't pull any punches in the interview, sharing stories from his days on The Outsiders set, remembering Charlie's hard-partying 20s, and recalling just how impressed he was by Tom's intense focus. He said:

    • On meeting Tom Cruise on The Outsiders: "He’s open, friendly, funny, and has an almost robotic, bloodless focus and an intensity that I’ve never encountered before. . . already showing traits that will make him famous; he’s zeroed in like a laser."
    • On Tom's reaction to sharing a room during their auditions "We check into the Plaza Hotel. I am taken aback at the luxury and spectacle of the lobby. . . The front desk tells us we will be sharing rooms. In a flash, Cruise is on the phone to his agent, Paula Wagner. ‘Paula, they are making us share,’ he says. . . The rest of us are staggering around like happy goofs. . . 'O.K., then. Thank you very much,' he says like a 50-year-old businessman getting off the phone with his stockbroker. 'Paula says it’s fine.'"
    • On being proud of his work in the 80s: "The Brat Pack is timeless. We should all be so lucky in our lives to create things that we’re still talking about 25 years later."
    • On his playing and working hard with Charlie Sheen: "We competed to see who could play harder, then show up for work and still kick ass. The verdict: Charlie by a nose."

Robert Pattinson is on the April cover of Vanity Fair, and the magazine just released the cover with some teaser quotes from the article. He's starting to promote Water For Elephants, and his director in that movie spoke about Rob's connection with a certain costar, the elephant Tai, while Reese Witherspoon recounted another story about his crazy fans. Robert also spoke about Kristen Stewart, Twilight, his favorite candy, and why he respects Charlie Sheen. Here are highlights:

    • On his relationship with Kristen: "It's just very traumatic. When [Twilight] is over, the media will lose interest [in the relationship]. There'll be nothing to say. It won't fit into a headline anymore. It won't fit into a template."
    • On Kristen: "Kristen is very focused on being an actress. I mean, that's what she is—she's an actress. Whereas I—I just don't really know. She's cool. Even before I knew her I thought she was a really good actress. Like, I saw Into the Wild, and I thought she was really good in that. I still think there are very few girls in her class that are as good as she is."
    • On Tai the elephant: "She was the best actor I ever worked with in my life. I cried when the elephant was wrapped. I never cried when anyone else was wrapped."
    • On being anonymous during his recent road trip: "No one recognized me or anything. And I was like, Ah, this is really cool, sitting there eating chicken wings and stuff. They always find out somehow."
    • On his downtime: "I've just kind of stopped doing everything. I never change the channel in my trailer. I just watch reruns of House of Payne and Two and a Half Men. I love Cops—I think it's my favorite TV show… God," he says, laughing, "I sound like such a loser."
    • On Twilight: "There's nothing you can do about it. That's the way it is. But it is weird being part of that, kind of representing something you don't particularly like … God. I just really headbutted it. This thing with everyone knowing you … it's weird, because people have this one-sided relationship where they look at your picture and feel they know you more than someone they actually know. I don't really know myself that well. I can't really understand it even now. It does have an angle which is attached to something quite primal in girls. I guess people want it to define them, like 'I'm a Twilight fan.'… I think people really just like being part of a crowd. There's something just tremendously exciting about hyping yourself up to that level."
    • On Charlie Sheen: "I like crazy people who don't give a f*ck."
    • Reese Witherspoon on Rob mania: "I'd never seen anything like that, ever. They were waiting at five o'clock in the morning to see him. Young girls. Where are their mothers? I hear so many horror stories about young actors with attitude showing up late or hung over, and there wasn't any of that. He worked so hard."
    • Director Francis Lawrence on Rob and Tai: "I wouldn't be surprised if Rob says the reason he took the movie was because of the elephant. He really fell in love."
