Jennifer Garner had a smiley time with Violet when she took her to a karate class in Santa Monica yesterday. The mother-daughter day came after Jen landed in LA yesterday following a short trip. She was most likely working on her new film Draft Day, which began filming in Ohio last week. However, Jen did get in some family time before she headed to her set as she and Ben Affleck took their daughters to Disneyland last weekend. Jennifer Garner and her daughters rode a Dumbo ride at the theme park while proud dad Ben watched from the sidelines. Jennifer Garner and Her Girls Ride Dumbo at Disneyland!
It was a sunny Saturday for Jennifer Garner and her daughters, Violet and Seraphina Affleck. The trio visited Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, where they checked out the attractions and took a spin on the Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride. The weekend fun followed up a routine few days of school runs and breakfast outings, though there was exciting news sprinkled in. It was announced that Ben Affleck will receive the guy of the year award at the Spike TV Guys' Choice Awards in June. The honor will come after he's celebrated by Brown University with a special degree later this month. Jennifer, meanwhile, is in talks to star in the film adaptation of the popular children's book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
Ben, Jen, and Violet Cheer Sera On to the Finish Line
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner cheered on their daughter Seraphina as she crossed the finish line at her track meet on Sunday in Pacific Palisades. Along with her proud parents, Sera also had the support of older sister Violet, who helped her younger sister prep for her race by accompanying for her prerun stretches. It was a loving afternoon for Jen and Ben, who showed PDA in the stands. Adding to the family fun, Ben also treated his daughters to a trip to the farmers market that day as well.
Seraphina is not the only one in the family to receive praise for her accomplishments. It was recently announced that Ben will receive an honorary doctorate from Brown University on May 26. It's the season for special recognition, as Ben's best friend Matt Damon just got an award last week from Harvard.
Ben Shows His Boston Pride During an Outing With His Girls
Jennifer Garner was accompanied by her oldest daughter, Violet Affleck, for a trip to Williams-Sonoma in LA's Brentwood district yesterday. Their mother-daughter outing came after spending time with Ben Affleck and Seraphina on Saturday. Boston native Ben wore a Red Sox hat for a stop with his girls at Brentwood Country Mart, where he also showed PDA with his wife. He's been keeping his hometown in mind since the Boston Marathon bombings paralyzed the town last week. Ben made his support known on his Twitter account, sharing, "Such a senseless and tragic day. My family and I send our love to our beloved and resilient Boston."
Although Ben and Jen were joined by the girls for the weekend stop, they were able to sneak in alone time together. The couple kicked off the weekend with a Friday night dinner date, and they also ran errands as a duo following Jen's 41st birthday last Wednesday.
Jennifer Garner and Her Girls Hit the Beach in Santa Monica
Jennifer Garner spent a girls' day at the beach in Santa Monica with her daughters, Violet and Seraphina, yesterday. She and Sera shared a laugh as they tried to avoid the waves during a dip in the water. Jen covered up from the sun in a wide-brimmed hat and long-sleeved denim shirt, which was appropriate attire since she's an ambassador to Neutrogena and an advocate for sunscreen protection. Jen followed her own advice after traveling to NYC just last month to speak out about the damaging effects of the changing environment at Neutrogena's Sun Summit.
The sandy afternoon wrapped up a busy weekend for Jen. Earlier Sunday, she and Violet also ran errands together, and on Saturday, the girls spent time with Ben Affleck at the Brentwood Country Mart. Jen and Ben may have been all about family time, but they kicked off the weekend with a date night on Friday.

The couple hung out with Seraphina together on Tuesday, ahead of Ben's big To the Wonder premiere, later that night. One of her possible new roles could be in Draft Day, a film with Kevin Costner, although there has been no confirmation on the new movie.
Jennifer Garner Stops to Shop With Violet
Jennifer Garner ran errands around LA solo yesterday afternoon before bringing her daughter Violet Affleck along for a trip to Brentwood Country Mart. Violet showed off a wide grin with a missing tooth as she and her mom stopped into the James Perse store. It's been a week of fun for Jennifer and her kids that included a stop at McDonald's for Happy Meals, karate class, and even a pony ride for Vi's little sister, Seraphina, at the LA farmers market. Dad Ben Affleck has some work to do, though, gearing up for the April 12 release of his latest film, To the Wonder. His costar Rachel McAdams stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night to talk about their film, which also stars Javier Bardem and Olga Kurylenko.
Jennifer Garner and Violet Have a Happy Meal
Jennifer Garner took Violet Affleck out for a fast-food treat in LA yesterday. The mother-daughter duo left a McDonald's restaurant while holding hands and clutching two Happy Meals. Later, Jennifer changed into workout gear for a trip to the gym with a friend. She has been spending a lot of time with her family after wrapping up award season with Ben Affleck earlier this year. However, Jennifer may be back on set soon as she is reportedly in talks to costar with Kevin Costner in Draft Day, an upcoming football film. She recently explained her decision to scale back on her career in recent years, saying that with Ben so busy with work, it makes sense for her to spend more time being a mom.
Ben and Violet Make a Sunny Stop as Jen Addresses His Oscars Speech
Ben Affleck helped his oldest daughter, Violet, out of his car in Santa Monica today. Violet wore a Spring ensemble of pastels and carried a bag monogrammed with her name for the bright father-daughter stop. Ben is currently on dad duty with wife Jennifer Garner spending time in NYC. Although Jen left her family for a stay on the East Coast, she got in plenty of quality time with the kids recently. Earlier this week, she was the one helping Violet out of the car while out in LA, and Jen also shared brunch with all three of their children over the weekend.
Ben and Jen have been taking turns caring for their kids based on their busy schedules, and she recently addressed his highly criticized Oscar speech, in which he referred to their marriage as "work." Although critics were quick to paint his words in a negative light, Jennifer explained Ben's Oscars speech from her perspective in an interview with Britain's Telegraph, revealing, "I know Ben, I knew he meant it as the hugest, warmest compliment in the world. I think he was saying, 'Look, what we have is really real and I value it above all and I'm in it with you and I know you are in it with me.' That's the way I took it."
