The Amazing Spider-Man

Andrew Garfield slips into the Spidey suit in Mark Webb's new iteration of the classic superhero. In this version, Peter Parker is back in high school when he's bitten by the spider that infects him with superpowers. He needs them to combat Dr. Connors (Rhys Ifans), a onetime ally of his father's who's taken to transforming into a giant evil lizard at night. Garfield and Emma Stone (as love interest Gwen Stacy) bring new life to the franchise, though the plot may be a bit too similar to the Sam Raimi film for some viewers. The DVD comes with deleted scenes, commentary, production art, and stunt rehearsals.

What's That Song? Sweet Tunes From Recent Trailers

I'm notorious for compiling playlists solely composed of songs from movie soundtracks, and as of late, my ears have perked up at quite a few tunes featured in trailers.

I'm notorious for compiling playlists solely composed of songs from movie soundtracks, and as of late, my ears have perked up at quite a few tunes featured in trailers. Wondering what that song is from the trailer for The Perks of Being a Wallflower? Or that awesome cover in the preview for The Great Gatsby? Find out which songs are playing in the trailers you've seen recently — tracks from quirky indie artists like M. Ward to heavy-hitting hip-hop stars such as Jay-Z and Kanye West. Emily Blunt Steps Out For Her Second Premiere This Week

Emily Blunt chose a red lace Michael Kors dress last night for her second movie debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in as many days.

Emily Blunt chose a red lace Michael Kors dress last night for her second movie debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in as many days. She joined her director Lynn Shelton for a red-carpet screening of Your Sister's Sister, and on Wednesday evening, she linked up with Jason Segel as the pair premiered their comedy The Five-Year Engagement. The comedy, about a couple's long-delayed walk down the aisle, hits theaters everywhere a week from today.

Emily hasn't had her husband, John Krasinski, by her side for this week's festivities, but Jason brought his real-life love, Michelle Williams, to the Five-Year screening and afterparty. The new couple have been keeping their relationship relatively under the radar, but Jason was spotted over the weekend with pictures of the actress and a message that read "I love you" stickered to the back of his iPhone.

Your Sister's Sister Trailer: Emily Blunt Is in a Love Triangle

In

In Your Sister's Sister, Mark Duplass (of The League and our comedy dreams) stars as Jack, a guy coping with the recent loss of his brother. After making a scene at a memorial party, Jack goes up to his best friend Iris's (Emily Blunt) family cabin in Puget Sound. Instead of solitude, he finds Iris's sister Hannah (Rosemarie DeWitt), who is dealing with a severed relationship of her own. Their two-person drinking party ends up between the sheets, and when Iris arrives the next day, Hannah and Jack must find the best way to deal with the fallout of their drunken encounter — and Iris's secret feelings for Jack.

I love Duplass, and he has great chemistry here with Blunt and DeWitt. It's an intimate film with a small cast, but after viewing the low-key, earnest trailer, it's no wonder the flick has been earning critical praise. It's already been showcased at the Toronto Film Festival and Sundance, but Your Sister's Sister doesn't hit theaters until June 15. Until then, you can watch the trailer when you read more

Sundance Snapshot: Your Sister's Sister Puts the Fun in Family Dysfunction

Director Lynn Shelton made her Sundance premiere with Humpday, and she returned to the festival this year with Your Sister's Sister.

Director Lynn Shelton made her Sundance premiere with Humpday, and she returned to the festival this year with Your Sister's Sister. The film has a tiny cast — in fact, most of the scenes are between just three actors — but this little indie is one of the most memorable films I caught at the festival. Here's why:

  • Who's behind it? Emily Blunt, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Mark Duplass make up the cast. Lynn Shelton (who also directed Duplass in Humpday) is behind the camera.
  • What's it about? Duplass plays Jack, a guy who's on a bit of a downward spiral a year after losing his brother. Jack's still close friends with his brother's ex, Iris (Blunt), who suggests that Jack spend some time in solitude at her father's rustic lakeside cabin. When Jack arrives at the cabin, he's surprised to find Iris's sister, Hannah (DeWitt), and when Iris pops up for a visit, a very tangled web is woven between the three characters over the course of a few days.
  • What did I think? This is a little gem of a film; all three actors turn in nuanced performances, making the complicated relationships between the three feel incredibly authentic. Duplass gets most of the laughs as Jack bumbles to keep the peace between Iris and Hannah, but it's Blunt and DeWitt that really shine as siblings that love each other through and through, but can't help pushing each other's buttons. The Seattle cabin setting also adds extra charm, and really makes the audience feel like you're trapped in the conundrum between the characters, isolated away from the rest of the world.

Emily Blunt Celebrates Your Sister's Sister at Sundance Without John

Despite the snow falling outside, Emily Blunt went with a cute dress and booties for the Sundance premiere of Your Sister's Sister in Park City on Friday evening.

Despite the snow falling outside, Emily Blunt went with a cute dress and booties for the Sundance premiere of Your Sister's Sister in Park City on Friday evening. She was joined by her costars in the movie, including Mark Duplass and Rosmarie Dewitt, though Emily's husband John Krasinski was busy in LA with the press junket for Big Miracle. John will be headed to Utah soon enough though, since he has his own project, Nobody Walks debuting on Sunday. Hopefully John and Emily will get to overlap in the Winter wonderland, though he's in the thick of promoting his dramatic whale movie. Next up for Emily is Five Year Engagement which made BuzzSugar's short list of the five movies they are most excited to see in 2012.
