Mali said she took her photos while she was "in St Barth's, where I was for New Year's Eve; then in Miami, when I was visiting my boyfriend." Meanwhile, Hart's sister took photos of her in and around the pool at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. "We wanted to be a bit spontaneous," she said.

In doing the DIY project, Mali and Hart join a long list of models that includes Jourdan Dunn, Karolina Kurkova, Poppy Delevingne, and Liu Wen, among others. A look at their self-styled campaigns here in the gallery.

Rag & Bone Spring 2013

Bartenders serving ice-cold Peroni, a live DJ set by Thom Yorke, and the biggest fleet of street style paparazzo seen yet this fashion week: the Rag & Bone show generated some serious heat (or maybe that was the lack of air conditioning in the venue?), and that was before the first look even came out the gate.

Excitement aside, there is something about a Rag & Bone show that always feels intrinsically New York, despite designers Marcus Wainwright's and David Neville's deep British roots. That spirit was in full effect for Spring 2013, with a hodgepodge of influences — off-road racing, motocross, prep, sport, and military — expertly layered in the very embodiment of downtown cool.

Silhouettes were ample: moto jackets came oversized, miniskirts flared, vests boxy. And while there was nary a print to be found, fabrics were textural in the form of striped seersucker, crackled leather, and crocheted lace — the latter of which peeked out from beneath several hems.

Love All: Designers Customize Tennis Balls For Vogue

In honor of the US Open Tennis Championships, which started in New York on Monday, Vogue asked designers including Pamela Love, Peter Som, and Eddie Borgo to design tennis balls with elements of their signature motifs.
Vogue Designer Tennis Balls For US Open 2012

In honor of the US Open Tennis Championships, which started in New York on Monday, Vogue asked designers including Pamela Love, Peter Som, and Eddie Borgo to design tennis balls with elements of their signature motifs. The one-of-a-kind balls are decorated with everything from cloth flowers to rhinestones, lace, leather, and aggressive metal studs. Love shot an arrow through her design ("I have four arrow tattoos, so I thought, why not?" she says), while Som's sparkly entry takes inspiration from a diamond tennis bracelet. Dana Lorenz's Fenton ball, with brass chains and pearls, takes inspiration from Christian Lacroix and the glamorous supermodels of the '90s. A selection of our favorites from the project here in the gallery.

When Marcus Wainwright and David Neville's Resort 2013 collection reaches stores in November, Rag & Bone customers will be treated to a collection of cable-knit sweaters, floral and sequin suiting, and some very smart outerwear — wool overcoats, leather jackets, and an olive parka included. There are feminine dresses and skirts, too, and though they might be toughened up with leather elements, their inspiration comes from Victorian petticoats. "It feels odd for me to be saying this," Wainwright said. "But all those lace and gauzy layers are really cool."

Rag and Bone Runway Fall 2012

Rag & Bone's Fall runway show took place on a chilly evening at Pier 57, but everyone seemed to forget the brisk draft once David Neville and Marcus Wainwright started the show. "Think about a country house and all the things you might find in it," said Wainwright when describing the collection. Layering was key in the duo's vision; ikat printed dresses, wool jodhpurs, tapestry floral suiting, fur vests, and blanket striped wraps were smartly piled on top of one another, creating a luxe, textured feel without going overboard. Meanwhile, sharp tailored coats, blazers, precision-cut suit sets, and a continuous theme of leather touches tempered the varied mix, injecting a sharp, modern feel across the board. For accessories, Neville and Wainwright created more covetable must haves, supplying die-hard fans with a lineup of lace-up boots and stacked platform loafers. The closer? House of Pain's "Jump Around," which pretty much sums up the evening's exciting showing.

  • Trends: Blanket stripes, asymmetric wrap skirts, jodhpurs, suiting.
  • Colors: Copper, gray, blue, burgundy, black, red.
  • Key Piece: The multicolored blanket striped blazers and wraps sit high on our lust list.
  • Accessories: Lace-up and tweed ankle boots, stacked platform loafers, leather gloves, classic brown leather belts, satchel bags.
  • Who Would Wear It: Girls who crave texture and modernity like Taylor Tomasi Hill and Hanneli Mustaparta.

Rag and Bone Runway 2012 Fall

>> For Fall 2012, David Neville and Marcus Wainwright took a little trip to the English countryside — with a stop in India along the way. There were jodhpurs and riding jackets — cinched high on the waist with hearty leather belts — in a feast of fabrics: blanket stripes, metallic-threaded brocade, ikat knits, and felted herringbone. Layers, a hallmark of the brand, were carefully draped and artfully controlled. And, while there were many pieces on hand to covet — such as mixed-print surplice dresses, any number of terrific fur vests — the other show-stoppers this time around were the boots: shiny, bold, and with extra-thick wooden soles.

>> Surf's up is not the way of Rag & Bone Resort 2012. “We’re not dressing her for a trip to St. Barth’s,” quipped David Neville, adding: "This collection is about how our girl dresses." Instead, focus fell on a working winter wardrobe. “Just two straight guys faffing around with chiffon,” joked Marcus Wainwright, indicating a sheer panel peeking out from a two-tone peacoat. Joking aside, the designers know their money pieces — their colored denim, currently selling like hotcakes, is reincarnated for Resort in a variety of colors, including one plum pair with a print derived from their paint-splattered studio floor (which was once occupied by the artist Matthew Barney).
