Andrew Garfield took a solo spin around the set of The Amazing Spider-Man in NYC last night before getting down to business in front of the cameras. He chatted with the director and rehearsed lines with costar Martin Sheen before they started rolling on a pivotal scene in which Peter Parker, Andrew's character, witnesses Uncle Ben, played by Martin, pass away. So far, most of Andrew's scenes have been shared with Emma Stone. She wasn't on hand for the late-night shoot but she's still holding onto her lead over Andrew in the PopSugar 100's category of hottest rising stars — there's plenty of time to cast your votes and share them on Facebook to be entered into a drawing to win one of four awesome prizes!
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield spent Saturday on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man in NYC. Andrew wasn't sporting his tight, crime-fighting costume for his latest day of filming, instead going casual in Peter Parker's street clothes. Andrew and Emma are off to a strong start in the competition for your favorite hottest rising star in the PopSugar 100, with both of their careers solidly on the rise in 2011. Beyond their roles in the Spider-Man reboot, they are both staying busy with several other high-profile projects. Emma's turn in the highly anticipated, big-screen adaptation of The Help will hit theaters this Summer, and Andrew is following up his success in The Social Network with a role opposite Jennifer Garner in the upcoming drama Back Roads. Off screen, the pair still manage to unwind in their downtime. Andrew's been clocking date nights with girlfriend Shannon Woodward, and Emma, who is a current Glamour covergirl, is becoming a red-carpet staple.
There's no need to call Andrew Garfield's superhero film the Spider-Man reboot anymore — it now has a name: The Amazing Spider-Man! Sony announced the new title and released another still photo of Garfield in full costume, which you can see here (though if you want to see Garfield unmasked, click here, and if you'd like to see him in action, click here).
I like that the title differentiates itself from the Tobey Maguire batch of Spider-Man flicks, and I think it has sort of a classic comic book feel (and I like that we finally have something to call it, period). But what do you think of the name? Is it weighty enough for the superhero?
Andrew Garfield hopped into a car on the set of Spider-Man in LA yesterday. He was in casual clothes for filming after donning the iconic — and tight! — Spidey suit for the cameras last week. Andrew's leading lady, Emma Stone, had a few days off from work to hang out with her pup recently, though she's also been busy with award season. Andrew will soon trade his bright blond onscreen partner for a famous brunette, as he's set to star alongside Jennifer Garner in the drama Back Roads.
We've already gotten a glimpse of Andrew Garfield in the Spider-Man suit, but here are some pics of the star fighting crime and slinging those webs on the set of the reboot. Garfield's suit doesn't leave very much to the imagination (from the back or the front), and it looks like he's getting very well acquainted with some of his costars.
Garfield is plenty busy between playing Spidey and gearing up to represent The Social Network at the Oscars (speaking of which, have you filled out a ballot yet?), which helped him land on our radar as a British up-and-comer to watch. The film's 2012 release date still feels far away, but that will give us plenty of time to debate who looks better in a Spider-Man suit.

Andrew Garfield left little to the imagination last night on the LA set of Spider-Man. He did a series of flips and stunts around a car, the whole time showing off his assets in his tight blue and red costume. It's his latest appearance in the Spidey suit since we got a first look at him in the getup earlier this month. Andrew is taking over the action-hero reigns from Tobey Maguire, and you guys seem split as to who makes a sexier leading man. Tobey, however, has thrown his full support behind Andrew and even offered his blessing to the reboot of his famous franchise. Andrew was back to work on the blockbuster after having a few recent nights off to make the award season rounds on behalf of The Social Network. He stepped out to attend the SAG Awards as well as the Directors Guild of America's ceremony last weekend alone, and he'll throw on a tux again later this month for the Oscars.
Earlier today we got our first peek at Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker in the Spider-Man reboot, and it was only a matter of time before we compared Spider-Man 2.0 to Tobey Maguire's version. We won't know more about how well Garfield works as Peter Parker until 2012 (though hopefully the trailer will drop before that), but we can still judge purely on aesthetics. Garfield is definitely scrawnier than Maguire, though his suit is a bit grittier looking than the version we've grown used to. Who gets your vote for sexier Spider-Man?
Breaking news: Sony has just posted the first photo of Andrew Garfield in the Spider-Man suit on the film's Facebook page! We already got a taste of Garfield's chemistry with Emma Stone on the set of the film, but here's the real deal. It's just a tease, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that he's looking pretty good. We officially can't wait to see more, but what say you?
Emma Stone sipped on a coffee on the set of Spider-Man in LA yesterday. She's been working on the action movie all week and she's had her dog to keep her company when she's not in front of the cameras with her leading man, Andrew Garfield. The costars will both take a break from filming to attend the Golden Globes this month, where they're each up for an award. Have an idea of who's going to take home the gold? Be sure to fill out BuzzSugar's ballot for the chance to win $1,000!
Emma Stone took a break from shooting the Spider-Man reboot yesterday in LA to take her dog on a walk. The actress has been hard at work on the movie since December and was spotted kissing her leading man and fellow rising star Andrew Garfield on set earlier this week. The current W covergirl enjoyed a breakout 2010, and 2011 is also looking quite good for Emma as she's up for a Golden Globe for her role in Easy A.
