15 Soccer Studs That'll Always Have Our Hearts

It's been a great few years for soccer. The 2014 World Cup in Brazil and 2015 Copa América certainly provided us with endless hours to admire the players' impressive skills . . . and, fine, gorgeous faces and crazy-toned bodies. And this year, we're getting more.

The Copa América Centenario is officially in full swing in the US, so we thought it was only fair to compile this list of 15 supersexy Latino soccer players that make our hearts beat a little bit harder. Even if you're not a sports fan, you'll find at least a few reasons — rock-hard six-packs, cute-as-a-button smiles, shimmering eyes — to start watching fútbol, we promise! See all the eye candy ahead.

Hulk

The Brazilian forward for Zenit Saint Petersburg (whose real name is Givanildo Vieira de Sousa) got his nickname because of his resemblance to Lou Ferrigno, who starred in the 1970s TV show The Incredible Hulk. He always catches our eye on the field with his movie-star hair and chiseled cheekbones.

Fernando Gago

This Argentinian footballer made our list for his classic good looks. The midfielder plays for Boca Juniors, and while he's married to fellow Argentinian tennis player Gisela Dulko (talk about a power couple), we're still fan-girling for this heartthrob.

Gabriel Achilier

This Ecuadorian footballer is currently a defender for Club Sport Emelec. He's wooed us over the years with that flirty smile and a variety of handsome hairstyles, from wild curls to most recently a fun fauxhawk. If you're not an Emelec fan, you might want to become one this year.

Javier Hernández

Better known as Chicharito, Hernández is a third-generation pro soccer player (his father and grandfather were both respected players in Mexico) and wears his childhood nickname on his shirt (which he earned because his dad was called Chicharo, or pea, because of his green eyes). The Mexican power forward — and devout Catholic — plays for Bayer Leverkusen, and before each game, he gets down on his knees and prays. Cute and spiritual? Sure, count us in.

Giovani dos Santos

This baby-faced baller simultaneously makes us want to pinch his cheeks and fan ourselves. Born in Mexico, Giovani started playing at a young age, and now he's a triple threat as an attacking midfielder, who can also play winger and forward. But wait, there's more: Giovani has not one, but two equally good-looking, soccer-playing brothers: Éder, who's retired, and Jonathan, who currently plays for Spanish club Villarreal CF. Talk about a family act!

Luis Suárez

OK, so we know the Uruguayan star is often portrayed as the villain (during his time playing for the Dutch team Ajax, he was nicknamed "The Cannibal of Ajax" for his penchant for, um, biting other players). But we're not here to talk soccer politics; we're here to discuss hotness. So as far as we're concerned: Suárez is a winner.

James Rodríguez

This Colombian babe has won the hearts of girls across the world with his combination of soccer skills and adorable boy-next-door looks. No wonder he has 21 million Instagram followers. But sorry, ladies: this one's taken (and his family is adorable).

Francisco Javier Rodríguez Pinedo

The 6'3" footballer was born in Mexico (Mazatlán, Sinaloa, to be exact, earning him the nickname Maza) and is currently a top defender for Cruz Azul. He keeps it serious when it's game time, but off the field he seems like a big, smiling, hunky teddy bear (at least, according to our detailed Instagram stalking).

Oscar dos Santos Emboaba

À la Madonna and Beyoncé, Emboaba is simply known among football fans as Oscar. The Brazilian cutie pie is both an attacking midfielder and winger for the English team Chelsea. He had to pull out of last year's World Cup because of an injury. Hey, Oscar, the next time you get hurt, we'll gladly volunteer to take care of you! (Although sadly for us, his wife and childhood sweetheart, Ludmila, probably has it covered.)

Diego Forlán

If you haven't gathered by now, we're a sucker for a great head of hair, so obviously Uruguayan star Forlán and his dreamy gold locks had to make the cut. But the forward for Peñarol has more going for him than silky tresses and baby blue eyes. He won best player in the 2010 World Cup and is a two-time winner of both the Pichichi Trophy and the European Golden Shoe. Goaaaalll!

Omar Gonzalez

The American boy holds dual citizenship between the US and Mexico. He played at the University of Maryland before building an impressive professional career, now as a defender for the C.F. Pachuca and the US Men's National Team. The tall drink of water (that's 6'5"!) is a dedicated family man. Before the birth of his daughter Isla Jay, he tweeted "It's time little girl . . . Daddy's waiting." CAN YOU EVEN?!

Mauricio Pinilla

Chiliean footballer Pinilla is the perfect combination of family man (he's a devoted husband to wife Gisella Gallardo and dad to girls Matilda and Agustina) and bad boy (his tattoo sleeves are kiiind of irresistible). Follow his Instagram to see his family adventures in Bergamo, Italy, where he plays striker for Atalanta.

Radamel Falcao

Eye candy at its finest. This Colombian cutie's smile will melt your heart away (and if the smile doesn't do it, the muscular forearms will). Many soccer fans agree Falcao (who recently chopped off his once-signature long locks) is one of the best strikers in the soccer world: in 2011, he broke the record for most goals scored in a single annual club football European competition, surpassing the previous record of 15 goals with 17. Here's hoping he lives up to his nickname, El Tigre, with his new team, the English club Chelsea. Rawr!

The Brazilian babe plays for Spanish club FC Barcelona. He's only 24, and he's as well known for his hot hair and good looks as he is for his highly discussed contracts and moves on the field.

Lionel Messi

While the Union of European Football Association just named him the Best Player in Europe, we're bestowing him with the title of Best Hair in the World of Soccer. It doesn't hurt that he's the highest paid player and arguably the best — and that he has a ridiculously cute son, Thiago, to boot.
