Actress Jordana Brewster inspires us in many ways — from her intense workouts to her sweet family moments and her on-point beauty advice. So when we caught up with her to chat about all things Spring, as part of her partnership with allergy medicine Zyrtec, we knew she would tell us exactly what do to best transition into the new season.

The Fast & the Furious actress, who was only 21 when she joined the blockbuster franchise, shared her easy tricks to take your workout outdoors, make your eating fresh, and even allergy-proof your mascara. Keep reading to find out exactly what she's doing to guarantee the next few warm months are simply flawless.

On Her Skin

Jordana loves to use oils, so when the weather starts getting warmer, the first thing she does is switch from grapeseed to rose oil. "I love grapeseed oil; it's so moisturizing and so good — I even use it to remove makeup. I just find that when I’m really dry, it’s really helpful. But as we go into Spring it’s a little less dry out there, so I don’t need that quite as much so I use a lighter moisturizer," she says.

The number one rule she lives by when it comes to skin care, no matter the season: "I think it’s super important, especially if it’s allergy season, to wash your face every night and every morning," she says. "It’s something I’ve been very religious about, because my mom always said it was one of the most important things to do. I think consistency is really important in terms of your skin care regime," she adds.

On Her Beauty Spring Cleaning Routine

The actress takes the new season as a prompt to get those makeup brushes clean. "It’s a very good time to clean out your makeup bag, and clean your brushes, and make sure everything is sanitized, because it’s hard to remember to do that. Taking care of this in the Spring every year is a good way to stick to it."

On Her Makeup

For Jordana, Spring is not about adding soft color to her makeup — she already goes very natural — but instead about adapting her routine to the elements.

"I’m building a house right now in Los Angeles, and every time I go in there it’s a little moldy and a little dusty, so I always get watery eyes. Because I have long lashes, I find that after putting on mascara, the mascara will be everywhere," she says. "Using a waterproof formula really helps, and when my allergies are bad, I’ll exchange the wand. I’ll switch that out so that the little allergy-causing particles don’t go onto my old wand and tube."

On Her Hair

"I like to be a little more casual in the Spring. I work with Jen Atkin in LA and I love her. Her Ouai line, specially the dry shampoo ($24), is really good. I like going a long time without washing my hair, so I like adding a beachy wave texture," Jordana says.

On Her Workouts

"I like working out outside, and I love doing the Santa Monica Stairs; it’s one of my favorite things to do because I love the challenge. I love hiking outdoors," Jordana says of her Spring get-fit routine.

So does her son, Julian, come along with her on these outings? "My husband wanted to get one of those strollers and run with my son and I didn’t let him because I was too worried about traffic. But we do go to Malibu and go to the beach and the park," she adds.

On Her Eating Habits

"So I follow this Instagram account called Weelicious. She does these really creative boxed lunches for kids, and they’re all organic and really snacky, so I think it’s a really great way to get your kids to eat healthy and seasonal," Jordana says of getting Julian to eat vegetables in season.

Her goal is always to get the freshest, tastiest produce, too: "What I like to do in LA is that go to the farmers market. I feel like everything tastes better, like the avocados are so fresh and delicious and the eggs are much more delicious.

"I think your kid imitates what you do as a parent. So if I show him mommy’s eating avocado, he’ll want to eat avocado too. So I think I like to lead by example as much as I can."

On Her Mother's Day Plans

"I usually spend the day with my sister who’s a mother of two kids under 2, and my mom who also helped out so much with her grandkids — she’s such a good mom — so it’s a big communal Mother’s Day. We’ll probably have a brunch at Cafe Habana in Malibu. That’s one of our favorite places to go and it’s super kid friendly."
