Each year the Man Booker prize is awarded to an English-language novel by a citizen of the Commonwealth of Nations, Ireland, or Zimbabwe, and today the 13-book longlist of nominees came out. This year 138 authors submitted their books for review, and all entries are being judged by Andrew Motion, a former poet laureate of England.
Three books — The Betrayal, The Finkler Question, and The Stars in the Bright Sky — have no immediate plans to be published in the US, so they are not included here. The other 10 are all either out or will be published over the next few months. Take a look!
