Welcome to Pandora

This elaborate theme is inspired by the 2009 film Avatar and includes movie-like props such as "Gateway to the Tree of Soul," "Bioluminescent Trees," and "Spirobranchus Giganteus." Blue face paint optional.

Whatever You Like

T.I.'s 2008 song "Whatever You Like" inspired this theme, which includes such slang-filled props as a "Suga Daddy" black carpet, "Stacks on Deck" hat, and "I Buy It" bow-tie arch (which would also work for what's sure to be a hot 2014 prom theme: "Suit and Tie").

P.S. I Love You

The New York-set 2007 film P.S. I Love You starring Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler surely inspired this cityscape theme. Although with the rose prop I'm getting a Bachelor helicopter-date vibe.

I Gotta Feeling

This theme, inspired by the 2009 song "I Gotta Feeling" by The Black Eyed Peas, features such lyrical props as "Tonight's Gonna Be" columns and "A Good Night" arch. Don't really see the correlation between the song and the starry-night motif, though.

Hot n Cold

Katy Perry's 2008 song "Hot n Cold" inspired this fire and ice theme, right down to the missing apostrophes. The real question is: where are my dragons?

Just Dance

Just Dance could be inspired by Lady Gaga's 2008 song or the 2009 Wii video game, but more likely it's taking its cues from the numerous reality TV dance competitions made popular in recent years.

Project Prom-Way

The reality competition show Project Runway inspired this theme, which includes "Look Like a Celebrity" column and "Strike a Pose" palm trees. It just needs Heidi Klum to complete the setup. Auf wiedersehen!

Kissin U

Now here's one to make you feel old. This green theme is inspired by the 2010 song "Kissin U" by Miranda Cosgrove — who was born in 1993.

Rolling in the Deep

Adele's 2010 hit "Rolling in the Deep" inspired this undersea theme. If that was my prom theme, you can bet I'd be dressed as Sophia Grace.

Club Prom

The Club Prom theme includes the "Rock the Club" electric archway and a "Funkified" fountain. Also, lots of glow-in-the-dark jewelry.

Young Forever

This theme has to take the cake. Inspired by Jay-Z's 2010 hit "Young Forever," it incorporates props like a "1 Live Forever" arch, "1 Never Get Old" pathway, and "Best of Your Todays" columns and clusters. Ha, keep dreaming kiddos.

Royale Hotel

Yes, Casino Royale was a 1953 book, a 1954 TV special, and a 1967 James Bond film first, but it's clear this theme is far more influenced by the 2006 film starring Daniel Craig and Eva Green.
