3 a.m. Girl Makes Her Own Ad

Ad-rageous: Hillary's 3 a.m. Girl Makes Pro-Bama Ad

The star sleeper of Hillary's famous 3 am ad has just made an ad she was actually awake for. Casey Knowles, the girl who appeared unwittingly in stock footage in an ad for Hillary Clinton (despite the fact that she's a vocal Obama supporter) fires back with this rebuttal.

What do you think? Is this response an "Oh, snap!" or an "Oh, please?" Do you approve this message?

oh god, i'm a horrible person. I didn't say there aren't 18 year olds who serve their country admirably. it was just a comment, not an across the board condemnation of young people.

The stock footage that Hillary used was from 8 years ago. ;)

I was in college when I was 17. Yes, it is a different perspective to be 17, but that doesn't mean it has no validity.

Kris - At 17 years old, I was educating my mother about the 2004 presidential election. I was the one who would spend upwards of 10 hours a day online scouring news feeds and watching debates. My 62 year old grandmother was playing video games while I campaigned. I was better educated on the election than anyone in my family.I'm sorry, but a 17 year old is no more a child than a 19 or 20 year old. By 17 years old, many of our young people are off to college, holding jobs, etc. Just because they don't meet the standard definition of "adult" in this country, doesn't mean they are a child. The age of consent with parental permission is 16 in most states, and I'm sorry but if someone is old enough to make a choice about having sex, I think they're old enough to be well informed on the goings on in our country and actually make an effort to help change the world.I could understand your discrimination against a 17 year old who is more preoccupied with makeup and television than the campaign, but someone who is educating herself on the issues, volunteering in a campaign, and actually participating in the future of this country is not necessarily stupid or uninformed just because of her age. Nor does she necessarily not know anything about the "real world".And keep in mind that it will be people that are in she and I's age bracket that will be running this country in 20 to 30 years. I'd rather that we, like the generations of young people in the 60's and 70's who were informed and made an effort to change our country, got a head start instead of waiting until we're in our thirties and forties to care about what is happening in our country like Generation X did.

Somebody didn't do their homework. I suppose Hilary expects to have all the facts availible to her when she is called to duty at 3 am... i hope she has a better research team in place...

I'm sure some of the 17 and 18 year olds serving time in Iraq would be more than happy to tell you about "the real world" Kris.

What do you know about the real world at 17 or 18? In this girl's defense, she probably works hard as a volunteer, and good for her for getting involved in politics. I just can't absorb a child's voting advice, no matter who it's for.

I don't consider it pimping, especially because she was an Obama precinct captain before Clinton even made the commerical. I don't think the commerical is that powerful, and I don't think this is something you would see outside of Youtube (I could be wrong, though). However, I don't think she is wrong for making the commerical. It is great that young people are so actively involved and informed.

I think it's a pretty good ad, and I love her line at the end "I approve this message, and not the other one." I thought it was pretty funny when I heard about this a couple of weeks ago. Bet they'll be background checking the actors in stock footage from now on!

Seriously who cares. I'm sure it made her feel good to support her candidate, but I always felt like this story was blown out of proportion and a bit childish. So they used stock footage. So she's actually an Obama fan. So what.

She will be 18 by November, and in many states this allows you to vote in the primaries as well.

It seems that she was already involved in the Obama campaign, and the add is fine, so if it meant something for her, great.

Cool, but it has to be a convertable with white/wall tires.

I like the ad. It's simple and straightforward. And who said she didn't come up with the idea? I certainly don't know the background, but if she were an Obama supporter already, then perhaps she was truly pissed off and wanted to do this on her own?
