5 Things You Didn't Know About Lady Gaga

5 Little-Known Facts About Stefani Germanotta, aka Lady Gaga

In Esquire's "Women Issue," Lady Gaga's old friend Brendan Sullivan chronicles the singer's rise to monster fame, giving us a glimpse into her pre-Gaga days as Stefani Germanotta. Sullivan says:

The difference between Lady Gaga and every other young singer is that most of the others ask the world, "Do you like the way I sing? Will you buy my record and come to my show?" Gaga tells the world, "I am famous. I was famous before even I had heard of me." She didn't dream of fame. She announced it.

Think you know the pantless pop icon? Here are five Lady G tidbits from the article you may not have known.

  1. Prior to stardom, she was a go-go dancer sewing her own costumes.
  2. When she first played "Just Dance" for Interscope Records in early 2008, she danced on a boardroom table.

For the final three Gaga factoids,

  1. She's a Bruce Springsteen fan and used to enjoy listening to The Boss while drinking wine from pint glasses.
  2. She creates mood boards for her outlandish outfits and shows.
  3. Eventually, she wants to be a producer — the "grandmother of pop music."

Average singing? Gaga may not be your taste Jereldan but she is very talented. Listen to some of her early pieces or any of her renditions without instrumentals

I don't care for her music... but I respect her for her originality!

Chloe, agreed. And that video "Telephone" is crazy good. I've got a little girl crush on Lady Ga ga. :p

I agree with SKG. I doubt Dale Bozzio was the first person to wear a silver top or black patent leather. If anything, it looks to me like Bozzio was imitating Cyndi Lauper and Boy George. I'm biased though. I just really love everything about Lady Gaga. The video she and Beyonce did for "telephone" is like my favorite thing ever.

Good point Janine22, I remember hearing about Dale claiming Gaga was ripping off her style. The proof is in the pics!

wow! your right, the styles are very similar, but honestly I love gaga too, but i always think of her as a madonna redux (though gaga has a really good voice).

I really like Lady gaga's music although I think that she has outright stolen her look from Dale Bozzio, the lead singer of the band Missing persons. Some photographic evidence:
