And then a few days later Taliban forces tried to assassinate him. We've got the wrong strategy, but he still needs us. Hopefully the next president of America will do a better job.

What do you expect a Muslim to do? They're trained by the Koran to kill infidels. They do not kill innocents. Muslims are all innocents unless they are helping the infidels. My money is that Karzai has been having secret meetings with al Qaeda and Taliban who have agreed to stop fighting in Afghanistan if Karzai will get rid of the Americans and Infidels. The Middle Eastern Mind-Set is so foreign to Western thought processes that probably only one percent of Western scholars understands what goes on. The Military haven't asked for help from those scholars and should have. Case in point is that our Soldiers accidentally learned that if they keep their facial hair, they're more accepted by the Muslim people. So why doesn't the Military have all its men grow facial hair? And having women in the combat arena? That is sooooo blasphemous to the Muslims. So, as I said, Karzai's up to something and you can bet it's not going to help the USofA establish an air base in Afghanistan.

I think you want to read a little more history of Karzai before you say he stood aside for 10 years - he may not have been doing everything bush-cheney wanted him to do, but stood aside and did nothing isn't true. More importantly, if we're kicking the butts of countries that stand aside and did nothing to curb terrorism, do you have a date yet for when we're taking on Saudi Arabia?

You're right, and for 10+ years, he stood aside and did nothing to curb terrorism. I supposed he felt it was ok as long as it wasn't happening to him or his people. We are now doing the thing that should've been started under Clinton.

When Afghan soldiers step up and begin fighting against the terrorist organizations, then they should get a say in the conduct of the war. But until then, step aside
