We're shocked too, with some of the stories we hear; full of these terrible lines. laluna27 5 years "Its our fate" is by far the worst. While I think that the "you're not attractive" thing would sting, the reality is anyone who says that comes off looking like a total jerk. The "fate" is much worse because it strings you along waiting for this person to be ready to be with you. postmodernsleaze 5 years I can't believe someone would actually use the "you're ugly" card to get out of a relationship. Does this really happen to people!? How douchey! I agree that the "you're not attractive" is the most atrocious out of all of these, but I picked the "it's not you, it's me" one because it's ridiculously cliche and surprisingly still widely used. xgreenfairyx 5 years Worst breakup line? How about...*click* bohokitty 5 years "I need to be with someone more attractive" lmao do people actually say that?? I'm thinking whoever uses that as an exit line usually gets slapped. I voted for the "fate" one 'cause I've actually had exes say that..when I broke up with them! weffie 5 years Haha they mostly seem like lines to turn a person down, not break up with someone you're already seeing... How you could be dating them if they remind you of a sibling? onion-waffle 5 years Anonymous and Sundown: ME TOO!!!! Girl power! Soulduster 5 years I voted for "I need to be with someone more attractive". Is someone's physical features their only worth? Saying that would imply it. When I'm involved with someone, I'm with them for more than just their looks. skigurl 5 years they are all lame, but the "I need to be with someone more attractive", i agree, is cruel and I couldn't imagine someone actually saying that...the others I could see someone saying, even though they suck. the brother/sister one is gross because if you've been sleeping together, it's like, uh you're sick...and the fate one sucks because it's like, if we're perfect then let's date now! GlowingMoon 5 years Truthfully, I think all the lines are fine. I have a bigger problem with men who don't bother to tell the women anything, and leave the women hanging -- stopped returning calls, e-mails, etc. They simply check-out of the relationship with no notice. That's awfully immature, in my book. At least these men bother to say something, and in my opinion, deserve some credit. JMHO. Sundown321 5 years I voted for "You're amazing, but I'm not ready to be in a relationship now.", because I know first hand how bad that one hurts... I have heard it a few times from guys who just get out of a serious relationship and try to start another one, then realize that's not what they wanted. Sucks. 5 years was just told the "i'm not ready to be in a serious relationship right now" line. ugh! totygoliguez 5 years All of them are pretty pathetic. But the worst has to be the: " I need to be with someone more attractive." That is just cruel. Chrstne 5 years I can't choose a worst, every one of those lines set my douchebag alarm off. They are all bad because they are so half-assed! All of them are equally weak and lame in my book. A guy who dishes out excuses instead of opting to be honest is not worth my time.
