Bailout Angst Provides a Push for Libertarian Barr

Click to Read

Bailout Angst Provides a Push For Libertarian Barr Polls so far aren't registering a shift to the Libertarian candidate in spite of widespread outrage over the $700 billion rescue package. The former GOP congressman from Georgia is languishing with about the same 1 percent share of support he's had for months. But Barr is sharpening his attacks on Republican nominee John McCain, hoping that fiscal conservatives frustrated over McCain's support for the bailout will join his antigovernment campaign.

If you're a fiscal conservative, it makes a lot more sense to vote for Barr. In government spending, McCain and Obama are almost equal.

I believe he got in on the Montana ballot under the Constitution Party. I read that a few months ago and found it again here: http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2008/09/ron-paul-to-appear-on-montana-ballot.html

Paul's not running, although he did run in the Republican primaries. The other third party candidates are McKinnery and Baldwin. http://2008election.procon.org/viewresource.asp?resourceID=1561

Paul? I don't think Ron Paul is running as an independent candidate.

Actually, Barr, Paul and Nader. I think Nader was a flash in the pan, although they're are alot of hardcore Paul supporters and Barr's starting to look alot better. Espicially with McCain's more socialist plan to spend another $300B to help homeowners!

I'm surprised we haven't heard more about how Barr and Nader might affect the election. Certainly they will be taking some votes away from the two major parties.

Antigovernment sure is a slanted way of phrasing his position.

McCain supporting the bailout is actually what solidified my decision to vote for Barr.
