BeautifulPeople.com Launches Virtual Sperm Bank

BeautifulPeople.com Wants Ugly People to Have Beautiful Kids

BeautifulPeople.com, the "largest network of attractive people in the world," first caught our attention when it shed 5,000 members who gained weight over the holidays in January, but now it's expanding. The dating site to the shallow is launching a virtual sperm bank.

Don't take our word for its ridiculousness, though. Just read these quotes from its employers and users. Founder Robert Hintze decided to start the sperm bank because he was feeling generous — even ugly people deserve a chance at having attractive children.

"Initially, we hesitated to widen the offering to nonbeautiful people.  But everyone — including ugly people — would like to bring good looking children in to the world, and we can't be selfish with our attractive gene pool."

Meanwhile Managing Director Greg Hodge wants to assure us there's nothing in it for BeautifulPeople.com — except for, maybe, publicity and page views.

"There are no financial benefits for us in doing so — we are simply responding to a demand for attractive donors.  Every parent would like their child to be blessed with many fine attributes, attractiveness being one of the most sought after.  For a site with members who resemble Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and Angelina Jolie you can imagine the demand."

But nobody describes it better than a potential sperm donor and real-life beautiful person. Find out what he has to say below.

"I'm from Norway and it's very common for young, healthy men there to donate sperm. There seems to be a shortage worldwide, being a BeautifulPeople.com member I wanted to do whatever I could to help others create beautiful babies."

It almost seems like BeautifulPeople has a sense of humor!

What if the kids actually inherit the "ugly" parent's beauty and the "beautiful" donor's intelligence? Sounds like a lose-lose to me.

Wow. Maybe your future kids will inherit the shallowness gene too.

This so funny, it can't be real.Anyway, not to sound pc, but I think ugliness lies more in one's attitude than appearance.

In my country there is a say: " There is not such thing as ugly women, there is only poor women." If you look at this celebrities before they were rich they were what is called " average" looking.

It sounds like a joke...and yet, I'm not having a super hard time imagining that, in fact, there is a demand for this ridiculous level of ego-mania. To be fair, as a former fat girl, I would never want my children to go through what I did, and I very much hope that I end up w/ someone who's non-fat genes (hopefully!) overpower my fat ones ... but this site - ridiculous... but amusing.

This is bizarre. With the right clothes, hairstyle, and makeup, anyone can be attractive. I would be much more concerned about having healthy children.

And sometimes gorgeous people have ugly kids. I wouldn't expect these really, really, really good looking people to know anything about genetics. At least they're not doing it for monetary gain, but out of the loving kindness of their hearts.

the saddest part is they might actually have people who choose to use their "beautiful" sperm. and it's true sometimes to not-so-attractive to me (b/c beauty is in the eye of the beholder) have really gorgeous children.

I've seen it where not-so-attractive people (I refuse to use the word "ugly") have had the most gorgeous children.Let's just hope any children that may be born as a result of this don't inherit the sperm donor's inflated ego and sense of entitlement.
