I went on a blind date last weekend, and no, this isn't going to be a sultry exposé on how it went or what the guy looked like, because really, it was all pretty normal. I did realize, however, how different it is to get set up today than it was a decade or so ago. Let's face it, blind dating isn't so blind anymore. There is a little less eye contact and a lot more iPhones. Here are the 10 ways technology has changed blind dating, for better or for worse.

You have your whole first conversation over text message.

Warning: he may not call. Times have changed. Your flirtationship could begin with a well-timed text message or a quick Tinder chat.

If you're really lucky, he adds you on Facebook before you've even heard of him.

Oops, did your friend not give you warning? Her cousin's nephew's friend's uncle is going to be in town, and he'd love to have dinner with you. Yay.

You know their entire past from just one Google search.

You won't believe the type of stuff that will pop up: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, your old Myspace profile you thought you deleted.

Of course, they know yours too.

You'll probably want to clean up your Facebook profile beforehand. Unless you want your awkward stage to become a topic of dinner conversation.

You can agree on an activity or place to eat so easily.

There are so many apps at your disposal to help you find date-appropriate hangouts. No need to get into your first fight over where to meet or what bar to go to.

Once you're actually at dinner, you fill the awkward silences by constantly checking your phone.

Not recommended because then you'll look like a jerk, but in case of emergency: check your Newsfeed.

In fact, if everything goes south and you need any easy escape, your BFF is just a text message away.

Trying to sneak out of the bathroom window is no longer necessary.

You both spend the entire date pretending you didn't meet by swiping right.

You pretend to look for him when you first meet up.

It's not like you haven't stared at all his photos online already.

And if it doesn't go well, you erase all memory of him with the click of a button.
