The Politico post was fascinating. Thanks, Liberty =) In Australia, there is always debate about whether or not we should have compulsory voting. It's easy to just think that 'we should' because we do, but obviously we always get people who are apathetic or are just silly and do donkey votes that get discounted anyway. The "penalty" for not voting is something like USD$20, so there are also many Australians who simply don't vote. The voter turnout in the US always fascinates me, though. I guess because in Australia, it's compulsory so anything less than, say, 99% of voter turnout just seems odd to me. Just wanted to say thanks for posting that article, I really enjoyed it =)
