Truly amazing that anyone can confuse Tiger Woods and Barack Obama. Tiger has a club in his hand. Barack has clubs for ears. That's the only similarity I noticed. American Idol is afraid to offend their Muslim audience. But even Muslims accept Jesus to a degree. Stupid of them to change the words because NOW it has become an 'item.' Think before you do anything similar to that again, guys. And Jesus thanks you for the publicity. Lower the drinking age? I think they should RAISE it. As a 63 year old, I think the drinking age should be raised to 21 everywhere. And that children should stay on their parents' insurance until they're 25, whether they're in college or married or not. And that auto-makers should be given two years to produce full size autos that get 50 miles per gallon. But then, no one listens to me anyway. Randi Rhodes? Red Skelton knew how to tell a joke with no off-color words or innuendo. It can be done. A person doesn't have to have a potty mouth. There's no excuse for it except that the person has no education. Jane Fonda? A has been who can't make the newspapers unless she does something crude. And that's the way I see it.

If he was referring to children idolizing John McCain, that's peachy. The problem is that he then makes a direct reference to Obama, saying that McCain is the "real audacity of hope". So...yeah...he screwed himself.

I thought he was referring to children idolizing athletes. I hope people don't discuss this for the next 3 weeks.

I agree with your take on it tiabia. However, because of the political climate his phrasing and choice of comparison was a bit tactless. He was already stumbling over his words at the start of the video so he was also probably nervous and not really thinking just talking.

OK, so am I confused or what?I didn't find the guys remark to be racist. It sounded like maybe he was referring to children idolizing athletes. Of course I could be wrong.

Insert foot in mouth. Remove foot. Insert Tiger Woods 9-Iron in mouth. I absolutely think Senator McCain should denounce this. If Geraldine & Wright can get slammed, so can this shmuck. I'm sorry, but comparing Barack Obama to Tiger Woods is not only ignorant in the sense that it has no real basis, but it's also just plain rude. I'm not saying Tiger is a bad guy, but comparing one of the best golf players to ever walk the face of the earth to Barack Obama is like comparing Larry Bird to Bill Clinton. They're not the same, they never will be, and just because they're two famous people who share the same skin color doesn't justify that sort of remark. But then again, the guy stumbled over his first sentence. That doesn't say much.

Well first of all I did not like the reference "pro war rally" of the replay on the embrace between the two. We saw the first time. I do not believe that the statement came from a racist intent, however I can see how it would be taken that way. Harking back to the topic on sensitivity these people really need to watch what they say and how they say it but again I do not believe it was a racist statement.

I don't see it as being racist intentionally. I thought he was implying "You idolize the sports heroes all you want, we'll idolize a true hero."Again, he did a very poor job in trying to make that comparison.

I like the sentiment of the statement the guy in the video is saying, but very poor choice of people to compare.

I agree that calling Hillary the name she did was completely absurd. I haven't listened to the woman before, but come on, let's stick to the issues.I think the "Tiger Woods" comment was COMPLETELY out of line, and McCain DOES need to denounce it. It is sad that a vet said it, but it was racist, and as a leader McCain needs to let his supporters know that he doesn't support that kind of thing. I think taking the word "Jesus" out of songs is silly too. Is Jesus a bad thing now?

Randi Rhoads (sp?) put me off listening to Air America almost as soon as it started. She was as vitrolic as any right-winger that she claimed to hate. Good riddance.
