"commenting on someone's political record, regardless of color, is not racist." absoulutely right but Rev Wright doesn't speak to Barack Obama's Political record so how is bringing him up relevant. I think that's the point that some people come back to. Note I don't think it is racist either.

Oh I hope he brings it up. Because i was listening to Billo on the radio on my way home today, and this guest called in and was like, "hey, forget the economy, McCain should highlight that it's been corruption that has caused the economic problems." And Billo loved that idea, and I did too, because once we start talking about associations and corruption we could talk about Sarah Palin's violation of Alaskan ethics laws! Or would that be sexist....?

i am so over the misuse of the word "racist". it is a belief that one race is superior to another, or support of a doctrine of same. commenting on someone's political record, regardless of color, is not racist.

Sorry for the delayed response, dreamsugar... commuting bites! In response - yes, I do attend a church regularly. And no, I do not always agree with the priest. However, I can assure you that it is not the status quo at my church to get political. If my priest started saying political things, then yes I would find another place to worship. I do not believe that church is the proper forum for such discussions.Ergo, I do not find the Palin/Obama comparison valid. I didn't demand that you agree with my position, I simply asked if you found them alike. I happy to know that we agree on some level (they aren't comparable). On that note, dreamsugar, please calm down - I am happy to spar with you about opinions. However, considering this is the second post I have ever commented on in this forum, you can't possibly predict how I would react to Obama having his hands laid upon by a witch doctor (answer: disturbing - as I do with Palin, but not political). Why so personal?

Same dream. I painted my room pepto bismol pink when I was in 4th grade and instead of painting it when I was older I just covered it with posters. Before I left I painted it back white. It is a gym now. sigh!

LOL -- I painted it a creamy buttermilk color when I moved out of my parents home. I couldn't leave them with that ;)

HA Dream..I had a purple room too during my Prince stage and after I attended the Purple Rain concert. It lasted about a year and then I was purpled out!

Purple is a horrible color on me. Can we make it lilac? I can pull of pastels!

[Are you saying that attending ONE church service is comparable to sitting in on 20 YEARS worth of church services?] Do you go to church? Does your Pastor/Reverned give the same sermon everyday???? OK -- so I doubt Obama -- who wasn't there that day heard the same sermon the next day or the day after that. He might have heard about it -- but he doesn't agree with the Rev's views. How many people at church agree about the same thing all the time. (And if yours does - you probably belong to a cult -- you might what to check that out - just sayin) SEE -- that's the problem with your argument. Palin -- let this WITCH HUNTER -- lay is hands upon her. I guess I'm the only one that's freaked out about that. And you know for DAMMM sure that if this were Obama -- your reaction would be totally different. Witch Hunting was banned 300 years ago. Is being a witch hunter acceptable now??? How much does the job pay -- where do I sign up???

I say McCain should bring on any and all smears he's got. I mean, it's working for his campaign so far, right? ;)

I dont think this will change anyones minds if it didn't back when the economy was better, people had Hillary as a third option, and before Palin made McCain look like nut. The people who are likely to be swayed by this in these circumstances would have been swayed by this long ago, and I doubt anyone left unsure or undecided needs only to be reminded of Wright and voila they become McCain supporters. All it would do at this point is make McCain look desperate, mean, negative, divisive, and not focused. Racist or not (and I think some will see it as a racist attack by making Obama and black church evil, thus turning into a criticism of all black churches) it is not good for McCain. He is better off not going there.

Palin currently attends services at Wasilla Bible Church, but she started and was a member for years at Wasilla Assembly of God (the pastor there supposedly brought her to Jesus). The "witch hunter" pastor was a guest pastor at the Wasilla Assembly of God. And he is the one she credits for "making the way" to the Governor's job by laying his hands on her in prayer as videotaped.
