A Brother and Sister Reunite After 15 Years in a Kind of Awkward Way

One minute you're looking for love, the next you're looking at your long-lost sibling. It sounds like something out of a movie, but the story of a brother and sister who were separated for 15 years getting matched on Tinder is 100 percent real life. Erik de Vries and Josephine Egberts both swiped right when they saw each others' faces, and they even struck up a flirty conversation before they realized something fishy was going on.

"I began to wonder to myself, it can't be that I just had a Tinder match with my sister?" Erik told a Dutch dating site. The siblings hadn't seen each other since 1999, when their parents separated and parted ways, Erik and his brother, Maarten, moving to Belgium, and Josephine living in Breda, a Netherlands city. The two agreed to meet soon after realizing the truth, and any doubts they had flew out the window when they came face to face. "When I saw him, it was suddenly very clear," Josephine said. "It was so special to see my own blood brother again after 16 years." All three siblings are excited to get to know each other again, and Tinder's slogan "Any swipe can change your life" was proven to be true in a big way.
