Can't Stop Reading My Boyfriend's Ex's Blog

Sunday Confessional: I Can't Stop Reading My BF's Ex Blog

This week's confession comes from our anonymous Confession Booth group in the TrèsSugar Community. Weigh in with your advice below.

Not because she writes about him (she has mentioned him maybe twice), but because she has a lot of emotional problems (attempted suicide, depression, alcohol, and drug abuse). Since I work in the mental health field, the way she writes it makes me understand firsthand how a depressed person copes with life. I know that if she didn't want anyone to read it she wouldn't post it on the Internet, but I feel like it's not right for me to read it since I know her.

There's lots of cool stuff going on in our community — join it, check it out, share your posts or advice in the great groups, and maybe we'll feature it here on TrèsSugar!

It is probably unhealthy for your well being to be so focused on your bf's ex. But as a mental health professional (or as a friend) you could comment on her blog (perhaps under an alias) with helpful advice or links to services that could help her. I don't think you're helping her by reading it unless you find help for her.

I think this is more unhealthy for you than it is wrong, per se. If i were you I think I'd do exactly the same thing. For a while anyways. But I also think your "no, this helps me be a better mental health prefessional"is kind of bs. It's okay, what person could resist that kind of temptation?

I don't think this is a big deal. There is no anonymity on the Internet. Blog stalking is just a part of life. Subscribe and read away!
