Dear Poll: Do You Get Pulled Into Your Friends' Arguments?

Dear Poll: Do You Get Pulled Into Your Friends' Arguments?

I told you on Wednesday that I'm often the go-to person for advice, and while I like being there for my friends, I often catch myself in the middle of their arguments. If they both come to me to vent their frustration or anger about the other person, I'm automatically put in a difficult position. Of course I try my best to just stay out, or at least be as neutral as possible, but that's sometimes easier said than done. So ladies, do you ever get pulled into the middle of your friends' arguments like I do?

I'm a go to person with a few couples we're friends with. I usually try really hard to make sure that I don't say anything negative and do more of the listening and comforting rather than give advice or give an opinion on who's right or wrong. I hate the times one of them is complaining and I know for a fact that they are actually the one in the wrong and it's not worth saying anything cause it will just make the situation worse.

Two of my best friends have an extremely on-again off-again relationship, and during their off periods they used to rant to me about each other. Sucks being put in that position.

I do try to give unbiased advice if needed, but I'm playing with fire if I ever take sides.

I listen to them but I try not to get pulled into it personally. If two of my friends are in an argument I won't tell either of them that they are right.

funny this topic came up, since it's been happening at work a lot lately....and since i'm on an island....work people are my "friends".im proud that i've remained completely neutral. given that i am at work, i feel like i will look more professional in the long run.

Yes, all the time — it's just so hard to turn a friend away when she needs advice.
