Dear Poll: Does Giving Back Make Him Hotter?

Being a celebrity means having a voice, and when stars use their voices to better our world, I can't help but be turned on. It's no secret that celebs have endless perks, but when they use their free time, spare money, and influential power of speech in a meaningful way, my envy goes by the wayside. OK, now that my PC statement is complete, I have to be honest: Watching good-looking Hollywood men be charitable is just hot! Are you with me? Tell me ladies, does seeing someone give back make him even hotter in your book like it does mine?

ABSOLUTELY. A charitable, giving heart makes my nips perk up!Personally, I don't give a rat's ass whether it's "genuine" or not --in my mind, the end far justifies the means.

Yup! But only if it's authentic, a cause that they really care about.

I agree with thorswitch in a way. Most of the time, charitable celebrities don't seem genuine at all, with an odd exception like Bono. They know exactly that it makes them more appealing and increases their brand value and most of them do it because of that. If they really meant it, they wouldn't care about the publicity. I can't exactly pinpoint what it is, but some celebs come across as genuine and some don't. Madonna for example, with her exotic baby adoption spree, seems like a big farce to me. There is no kindness in her eyes...ok I'm exaggerating kinda but that's how it comes across. I picked Other: for the above reasons, it actually turns me off!

I agree with you thorswitch!Hell no, donating to charity isn't a TURN ON.At least to me anyway. But being aware of worldly affairs and participating in a cause is very inspiring to me, male or female.

Generally speaking, if a celeb does something charitable or takes a stand for a certain cause in such a way that you know he or she isn't doing it *just* for the publicity, but because they truly want to do something good, I'll often find myself respecting them more and perhaps more willing to support their commercial efforts, but it doesn't make them more physically attractive. Admittedly, it helps a lot of the cause isn't one I'm strongly opposed to.... Conversely, if someone does something really slimy, that will often affect how attractive I find them. It's hard for me to have the hots for someone who is a complete jerk. A great example is that I used to nearly swoon over Tom Cruise, but then when within 2 or 3 months of having gone through a renewal of his vows with Nicole to celebrate their 10th anniversary, he has his publicist tell her he's leaving her and then tries to argue in court that the relationship was actually over *prior* to their 10th anniversary (apparently expecting the court to overlook that renewal of the vows thing) because in California, if the relationship lasts for 10 years or more, the wife is entitled to half of the marital assets (I believe that's regardless of any pre-nuptual agreements, but don't quote me on that) but if the marriage was less than 10 years when it ended, she'd be entitled to substantially less. I tend to find Cruise rather repulsive now and choose not to support his commercial work. A man that ugly on the inside doesn't deserve my interest.

It doesn't make him hotter but it probably means that he's a good guy which is great for a relationship.

It's a huge plus but for me personally,it doesn't make a guy more appealing.

It's nice to see that these men are giving back to society instead of throwing their money away on needless crap. Regardless are not, Brad, George, Leo, and other men- they are still hot- but showing how much they care makes them seem much more hotter. I just wish some other Hollywood starley would jump aboard the train.
