Did You Have a "Reputation" in High School?

Did You Have a "Reputation" in High School?

I've tried to forget the sexual shaming that went down in high school. Unfortunately most graduates of an American high school can recall girls being labeled "sluts" just because they made out with a couple different guys during the course of a semester. Or football players who taunted a girl on Monday after she hooked up with one of their friends after Friday's game.

Easy A, out today, turns this teen meanness on its head. In the modern-day Scarlet Letter, Emma Stone's character has some fun pretending to be the school slut.

Many of you say you became sexually active as a teen, but did you suffer a bad reputation for it?

I had a mostly undeserved reputation because I associated with a girl who had a well-deserved reputation. I did not have sex until I was 19, and it was with a serious boyfriend, but I would kiss just about anyone who tried (you only live once!). It's true what they say about being judged by the company that you keep.

my whole town pretty much labeled me a slut besides those who actually took the time to know me. I have a rather silly flirtatious personality all in good fun, so if you only met me once and didn't bother to know me you'd probably would have thought I was. Once your out of highschool people aren't as judgmental. What's wrong with an active sex life? As long as you're safe.

I can't believe that groups and labels aren't around in Europe or anywhere outside the US - come on it is a way of life, that is just how people are.

Discretion saw my way through school. Very active and very discreet. It can be possible.

I didn't. No one did. I grew up in Europe, and I have only ever seen high schools with groups and labels and reputations such as those in the US. Makes me kind of glad I didn't go to one.

I was the "cocky bitch" and the "slut" in highschool. Both well deserved.

My first Day of freshman year a senior yelled "Slut!" at me in front of the whole school. Needless to say I had neve seen this girl before in my life and calling me a slut was like calling a pin cushion comfortable. I wanted to cry and run! But I kept my heard held high and continued on my way. Luckily for me my sister was also a senior, I told her about the incident and she took care of it. :) I got called a slut a lot in high school. Not because I actually was but because I think that is the first thing girls spew at one another. Terrible.

I was such a good girl (didn't get my first kiss until 19!!), but a boy spread a nasty rumor about me. I had just moved to a new high school for my senior year (yea...that sucked), and a boy had a crush on me. But I didn't feel that way for him, so I said that I really needed a good friend at this new school before I needed a boyfriend. So he told his friends I'd sleep with them on the first date. Classy.

Nope, I was a good girl!

I had a reputation for not having a reputation! The sluttiest thing I was known for was sucking up to male teachers to get good grades.

No. I was known as the "good girl" and teacher's pet. I wasn't really into all that drama in high school. I in my own thing. There was a girl who girls hated in my Spanish class, but I think they were jealous of her because she was very pretty.

Nope. I didn't even kiss a guy all throughout high school until senior year when my bf and I met.

No. But I still remember the girl that got called out for sleeping with 2 guys in one week. We were standing in the locker area, everyone had heard the stories. She walks up to her locker and someone said something about it. Without even looking up, she starting putting her hair in a pony tail and said, in a very bored way, "yeah, one has a needle dick and the other one lasted 30seconds. But I don't kiss and tell, so I won't say which is which". Dead silence, then everyone broke into laughter and "oh my GOD!!!" type comments. Ended her reign as slut and put her into woman of the world catagory.

No, I didn't. I went to a rather large high school so it was hard to be recognized outside of your group of friends. I can only think of a handful of people who had a negative reputation that the majority of students knew about. Those people were caught doing some crazy things (sleeping with a teacher, teacher seeing students having sex on campus, etc.) so that's why the word spread.
