Do Tell: Do You Like Practical Jokes?

Practical jokes can be hilarious — when you're not the butt of them, of course! But in order to pull them off well, you have to have a certain sense of mischievousness, not to mention stealth. George Clooney is known for his practical joking skills, but if you don't have what it takes to excel in that department, something that was meant to be funny could take a nasty turn for the worse. Of course they have to be taken with a grain of salt, but do tell, are you a practical jokester who believes no harm no foul, or do you think there's too much room for hurt feelings?

I used to do it a lot. When I was young I found some things to push in cigarettes so when my dad lighted them they would explode. His reaction was not good. Then I tried fake puke at school.I also tried itching powder, and throwing a frog on my mom's lap. I must get it from her because when she was in high school she and her friends put chickens in the school library. There's a lot more. I'm sure there was more. One time I stuck maxi pads all over this guy's car in high school , and uh there was some ketchup involved. I still laugh about one or two I've done to colleagues on April 1. I called acting as though I was the IRS for a tax audit. Ohhh that was really mean. He laughed too after I admitted it was all a joke. Another good one was eating a whole box of chocolates and leaving the wrappers in the box and sending it to a guy I know who likes them. Of course after that I really did send a full box. It was all in fun.

I hate them so much that I always take April fool's day off from work!

I don't like having them done to me or doing them to someone else. I guess I am just too sensitive, or something.

I agree, no mean-spirited ones...otherwise, they can definitely be funny.

I agree with looseseal; as long as they aren't mean-spirited. When done well, a practical is fantastic!

I love them, but I also live with a family of pranksters, so you either have to love them, or be terribly uncomfortable all the time! It's fun though, I even enjoy them when I'm the butt end too! You have to have a good sense of humor about things!

I don't mind harmless practical jokes but nothing too serious. I think you also have to know who can take it and who can't. I wouldn't want someone doing something mean to me because I'd flip out. One time we filled a condom with lotion and put it in my roommates room on the floor when he'd been gone for a few days. Unfortunately, someone ruined it but I would have loved to see his reaction.

I love practical jokes! You just can't ever take them to heart. I guess after constantly being an easy target it's something you just learn!

I would never. It's too mean. :(

Only if it's not mean spirited (unless the prankee totally deserved it, heehee). I enjoy being pranked by the websites that do special things for April Fools Day. Even though it happens every year, I must admit I forget what day it is and then the website change would freak me out until I realize what's going on, then I'll have a good laugh.

I love them, even though I am always the butt of the joke. I am quite possibly the most gullable person in the world, so I am an easy target. And my boss is the king of jokes.....

I'm really not a fan; I'm too easily embarrassed.

I think they are ok, if they are not offensive in any way to the person being pranked. Everyone should have some sense of humor, but some people unfortunately take it too far!
