Do Tell: What Do You Miss Most About Childhood?

It's a New Year, which means none of us are getting any younger. Sure, it's fun to be an adult, but sometimes having adult responsibilities isn't all it's cracked up to be. I miss living at home rent-free, I miss summer vacations and I miss my mom packing my lunch box everyday. Since we can't turn back the clock, reminisce with me ladies and do tell, what do you miss most about your childhood?

Being able to wear costumes to the supermarket! My mom totally let us wear them all year round, even out to eat. My brother was always a ninja turtle or karate kid.

I feel like I missed out on my childhood...if I could go back, I would have told myself not to worry so much. The best part was having so many cousins around the same age as myself, playing tag in my backyard at midnight during summer vacation when everyone would come over. Visiting my grandfather's ranch in Mexico...that place just seemed so magical...there were fireflies (something you don't see where I live) and pecan trees as far as the eye could see. I feel sad now :(

I miss everything about my childhood...Innocence, creativity, making up games, going on trips, waking up early for my moms breakfast, having dinner with my family every night, not having any responsibilities other than cleaning my room, not having to worry about everything or anything, being taken care of, adventures, summer with friends, simple and fun school activities, having sleep overs, playing with friends, friends in general, pretend, camping, visiting family.

Catching salamanders, climbing trees. Playing Oregon Trail and Dino Park Tycoon on the macs in my jr. high computer class. Not worrying about money. When Kool-Aide bursts had faces on them and names like Alexander the Grape.

I miss having less responsibilities, being relatively care free, and thinking my parents could do no wrong...

Playing in the woods during winter time and hearing the crackling of leaves under my bike tires. I miss breakfast with my mom on sundays, and being a family unit , not so spread apart like now. I miss being Tucked in at night, and the smell of dinner when i would come in from playing.

I miss all the other kids looking up to me for being "the smart one"... I miss not studying for anything ever, I miss giggling behind my mom's back as I looked up words like "condom" in the dictionary and wrote the definitions to tell all my friends at school... I miss not worrying about my looks, my weight, my health, money, school, my future, and I miss that feeling where I was so SURE that the boy I had the HUGEST crush on TOTALLY liked me because he let me look after his Tamagotchi at recess, and drawing pictures in my diary of our wedding and the three sets of twins we'd have.
