Do Tell: Who's a Bigger Slob in Your Relationship?

Do Tell: Who's a Bigger Slob in Your Relationship?

I feel like men being slobs is a common misconception. Sure, some men are in fact messy and disorganized, but there are a lot of women out there who are just as unkempt. I'll admit that I'm not the neatest person in the world, so it's frustrating when I'm in a relationship with someone who is nitpicky about everything having a place — I'm more of a piles person! So ladies, do tell: Who is the slob in your relationship?

We both are. It's a bigger deal for him that I don't care about his messiness, but I really enjoy the freedom to be creative and not worry about cleaning all the time. I probably clean more than he does sometimes, but I prefer a relaxed, messy way of doing things... it's a lot less work & stress.

I'm not a complete slob but my guy is definitely much neater than I am.

I am definitely the cleaner of the two of us. He just doesn't really care lol. I've tried the whole... let everything get messy and eventually he will clean it up thing. Well, it got way too annoying for me. So I just understand that I am going to have to be the one that cleans lol :)

We're both slobs. I'm a clean freak when it comes to sanitary things (I hate having open containers lying around, dishes in the sink that haven't been rinsed with water, pee on the toilet seat, eating in bed or trash lying around). However, I have papers/books strewn everywhere, clothes piled on my rocking chair and dishes in the sink (rinsed, but not washed with soap) for three weeks. haha. My boyfriend doesn't care about organization or OCD cleanliness.

I'll admit that I can be nitpicky about things around the house...I am a total clean freak and HATE when things are out of place in my home. For example, I literally won't be able to go to sleep if I know there's dishes in the sink or a pile of laundry on the couch. I'll have to get up and do it...it just makes me feel better. My husband isn't exactly a slob, but he doesn't have my borderline OCD tendencies about neatness.

I don't think i'm an overly clean, tidy person, but my boyfriends have always been the slob in comparison.

That was one of the many benefits of us moving in together- I learned not to be such a slob! I have to confess though, if he's out of town for a few days, I let the place go - wallow in my filth - then clean up before he gets back. I don't know what that is so satisfying, but it is.

Both/Neither ha. I have more Junk then he does and it gets messy, but he will eat oatmeal then leave the bowl out until the oatmeal is dried to a cement. Like everyday. And shaves and gets water EVERYWHERE. But I leave stuff out and have a harder time getting rid of things then he does

hmm . . .at his place he's fairly neat. you go in his closet and he might have a few things on the floor from the gym or a rushed morning. he'll sometimes take a while to put his dishes in the dishwasher, until i'm over and then he tries to tidy up. (i always tease that he'll get roaches if his dishes stay in the sink with food on them).but other than that he's clean. no complaints.myself; i'm the same. i'm a bit more anal about my closet. it's color coordinated, so i'm always putting closet where it belongs, like a weirdo.i think we are about the same, and i wouldn't consider it being slobs. so this is a good revelation . . .(sigh of relief, lol)

Me. He used to be basically a neat freak but now he's relaxed about it. We just have a ton of stuff. We're working on it.

i'm definitely a slob. but there's a huge difference between being messy and being dirty. i'm definitely not dirty- i don't leave dishes out and crumbs all over the kitchen...it's more just clothes on the bedroom floor and stuff like that. my poor husband gets really annoyed though.

I'm not the neatest person, but he is a major slob compared to me. His three constantly overflowing laundry baskets (next to my one which is regularly emptied) can attest to that.

My bf is a huge slob! I'm no neat freak, but he drives me absolutely insane! He expects me to do all of his laundry, the cooking and most of the cleaning up afterwards. Sometimes I just want to strangle him!

Sun Sun I'm the same way. I get all stressed and start running around complaining to him and the kids about all their crap everywhere as I clean. They are all slobs in my house. They are so use to me cleaning constantly, I guess they kinda are spoiled like as if I were the maid or something. They help once I get upset about it, but it doesn't last. And I can't have them do any of the major stuff, because they won't clean it good enough for me to be satisfied.

i HAVE to have everything in its place. i get nervous, uneasy and panicky when our home is messy. now my husband is definitely NOT a slob, just he doesnt clean up anymore, since i moved in. he was always very clean, just not exactly neat or organized.

I think we're about equal...somewhere in the middle of the road. I tidy a lot more than he does...sometimes the piles of things drives me crazy! :) I'm a little afraid of what will happen once we get married and live together.Sidenote, I read an article a couple weeks ago that married women do approx. 7 hours more per week of household chores than when they were single. And married men do 1 hour less than when they were single. I'm getting married in a month and this TOTALLY FREAKED ME OUT!
