Elisabeth Hasselbeck Disses Ann Coulter, Says She's Staying on the View

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Disses Ann Coulter, Says She's Staying on the View Elisabeth Hasselbeck emphatically dissed Ann Coulter while clearing the air regarding rumors that she is jumping ship to Fox News, telling the ladies and the viewers, "I am not going anywhere." When Behar predicted that Sarah Palin would die her hair blonde and join Fox News if John McCain loses, she enumerated a list of famous blond Republicans: "Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Elisabeth Hasselbeck." "Whoa, whoa, whoa, please don't put me in the same sentence as Ann Coulter!" the proud Republican erupted.

I imagine a lot of conservatives would be embarrassed by Ann Coulter. (Also Elizabeth Hasselbeck, come to think of it.)

It's interesting to read some of these responses because I admit I don't think of her as a comedian. But if that is how she is billing herself, then I suppose she can get away with being rude like a lot of comedians are. What is her relationship to the Republican party? It feels like they have embraced her in some regards, at least it seems that way based on her being invited to speak at some events. Does she have a "liberal" equivalent? I guess my issue with her is that her outrageous comments detract from actual problems and end up being divisive. I think there are some people like that on the left too, and I don't like them either. I think you end up focusing on the outrage and hurt feelings and then you stop making progress.

I know I should appreciate freedom of speech/anyone's speech or whatnot, but Ann Coulter is WAY too out there for me to appreciate her words.

I have to say, Elizabeth is not as crazy as that whack job Ann so I'm not surprised that she doesn't like Ann.

I never claimed that I have read ALL of her books, and knowing how she self-describes does not require that you read her books: she has given plenty of interviews and written plenty of articles.
Great-Sommelier Great-Sommelier 7 years
She read you all her books in the interview? Must have been a long one. And steph, don't preach what you don't practice.

I KNOW what she says GS - I've met the woman in an interview situation. You really shouldn't assume that anyone who disagrees with you simply hasn't read or heard what you have. Pornographers want to sell their stuff too.

Don't all comedians? They certainly don't seem to be held to any standard unless they go batsh!t crazy like old Kramer.

or what about that quote about converting people to Christianity? I guess since she is an entertainer, she gets a pass on all or her racist hate speech.
Great-Sommelier Great-Sommelier 7 years
Steph, she writes to sell. She is extreme and says things in extreme ways. That is her shtick. If you read her books instead of looking up flame sites with quotes, you will see she explains that.

I meant morally, thanks. You should be careful of your 'certain' pronouncements. I read a lot of stuff that I disagree with. From "Godless": "Democrats cannot conceive of 'hate speech' towards Christians because, in their eyes, Christians always deserve it." Liberals say we're "...the only modern democracy with the death penalty. I think that should be treated as a selling point: "come to the United States for the economic opportunity, stay because we fry our Ted Bundys!" "The New York Times and the rest of the mainstream media will only refer to partial birth abortion as 'what its opponents refer to as partial birth abortion.' What do its supporters call it? Casual Fridays? Bean-with-bacon potato-chip dip?" A favorite from "If Democrats Had Any Brains": “God gave us the earth. We have dominion over the plants, the animals, the trees. God said, ‘Earth is yours. Take it. Rape it. It’s yours.’”

I think she's become more defensive since she sits at a table with a bunch of women that disagree with her on virtually everything. That must be tough...day in and day out.

I provided an accurate explanation. Stephley, you should probably not have much to say on this--I am quite sure you haven't read any of her books. And to say that she is immoral ( I am assuming that's what you meant, the word was misspelled )--please provide specific personal examples. Otherwise...your comment was completely nonsensical.

All the hate towards Elizabeth surprises me. Is it because you don't like that she thinks differently than you? That she lets herself have emotions? Why is she an "idiot". If she is, half the people on television and certainly in the media are.

sorry "lingering under the surface"

Both annoy me as well, but I prefer Anne Coulter to Elisabeth. I don't mind if people say what they feel of say things to get a rise out of people to then get a point across. I find people like Elisabeth a little "scary" because I'm not sure what is lingering other the surface she may very well be and Anne Coulter on the inside.

I remember when Elisabeth was on Survivor and she wasn't nearly as annoying as she is today.

Stephley LMAO @ harcore pornographer.I am very glad that most of us here find Coulter annoying. Do NOT get me started on Hassleback. Just shows that a person's irritating and annoying personality trumps their political affiliation.

Coulter's an ENTERTAINER? Then I'd put Coulter and Limbaugh in the same 'entertainment' category as a hardcore pornographer. Instead of debasing people sexually for money, they debase morally and politically.
