Flashback: Old Kotex Ad

And by "old" I mean 83 years old! There was a time when ladies who were on their periods having a "lost daintiness" moment actually had to launder their "cotton pads." (Click on gallery below.) So when Kotex came along, it was probably the equivalent, for women, of a man walking on the moon! (There's a joke in there somewhere, but it's late in the afternoon, I have a cold, and the caffeine's wearing off.) Anyone?

Haha! For the times I think it was pretty advanced! I mean, they seem to be implying that until then women could not accept social invitations but had to stay at home during their periods to wash their “rags”...which would have made it pretty obvious to everyone when she was menstruating (which not every woman is necessarily comfortable with!)...”oh, she can’t attend a social function around the same time every month? She must be feeling less dainty!” I say, go Kotex, for giving women their privacy and comfort!

Heh :)There are lots of girls out there coming back to non-disposable methods these days. Things like the Luna Cup and washable, absorbent pads that velcro around panties are making big comebacks. Pretty cool that so many girls are not squeemish about their own bodies, if you ask me.
