How is doing exactly what he stated he would do hypocritical?

This decision by Obama is completely hypocritical.

kscin is correct, it has always been Obama's plan to put additional troops in Afghanistan, while reducing troop numbers in Iraq. I think some on the far left gave him a hard time about this during primary season. His position hasn't changed though.

TidalWave, it was always his attention to refocus our primary war efforts on Afghanistan and Pakistan. He felt that the war there was much more justified as it actually is where Bin Laden and co are hiding out. Also, given how things have progressed in Iraq, less force is needed there while things have positively crumbled in Afghanistan.

this is an honest question, isn't this the opposite of what obama said he would do during his campaign? //i understand the difference between campaign promises and reality but this was a huge campaign issue so I find it a bit baffling ///also, i didn't pay much attention to the specifics of obama's views on the war because I knew that I didn't like his general feelings towards it
