While I understand the positive intentions on the new controversial law in Arizona, it also is a double-edged sword. Maybe because I'm an immigrant myself (who have faced some discrimination) that I feel strongly that the law can serve to encourage racism (obviously, racial profiling is allowed--and people with with different accent, look are target of investigation)...it just feels very hostile toward those who look/sound different than the majority of the state but I also understand that they have lots of illegal problems. And I've heard about how violent some people who are/were volunteering for this task force (I think people against illegal immigration), I don't know if this new law will encourage those with hatred toward a certain race to abuse the law even further. Just a thought when I saw it on the news the other day. Of course, many probably know more about this law and want to either correct me or educate me, and you guys are more than welcome to do that :)
