180 people have perished in Australia's devastating bushfires, and furry little koalas have not been spared the tragedy. Here's a ray of sunshine in these sad days: The bewildered female Koala, Sam, who we saw being given water by the Australian firefighter, now has someone to comfort her. Bob the Koala, who, like Sam, also suffered severe burns, is hanging out with her while they both recuperate. It will take between four to eight months for them both to be well enough to be released, but in the meantime, they have each other. "They keep putting their arms around each other and giving each other hugs," says Colleen Wood from the Southern Ash Wildlife Shelter where the duo is staying. (Bob has his arm around Sam in that pic up there.) "They really have made friends and it is quite beautiful to see after all this." Tear. Sniffle. Click here to read more.
