How Do You Feel About Allowing Your Parents to Set You Up On a Blind Date?

For those of you who have a great relationship with your folks and share the same tastes with them, I can see why having your parents set you up on a blind date would be really exciting and promising.

However, for the rest of you who feel like you and your parents are miles apart when it comes to the rules of dating and the kinds of guys you find interesting and attractive, would you ever consider letting your mother or father set you up on a blind date?

My husband and I were actually set up on a bilnd date... twice. The first time our moms tried to set us up and we both ditched and the second time a mutual friend of our parents did.... My mom has pretty good taste but I think I'd have to have a peek at the guy first.

I have a really good relationship with my parents...but I be damned if I allow them to hook me up on a date. I don't think so...I like my love life to be private and I would prefer to get my own men lol.

I just allowed my mother to set me up for the first time this past holiday season-- he was sooooooooo not more style is not even funny, but he worked for Dreamworks so to my mother he equated to security. At least I made a connection in LA if I ever go there and he was friendly enough. Won't do it again I don't think but I do always appreciate the opportunity to meet new people ever if just to network so if next holiday am alone and I go visit her(please gods, no....), I may give my mom an opportunity to do it again. LOL Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strenght

No, it is not bad. I did it all the time when I lived in NYC. Even if hell froze over I would never go out with anyone my Mom had in mind. She has terrible taste. I do not know how she ended up with my step dad.

Either way, its free food. (Is that bad, just to date a blind date from someone for a good dinner)
