Last Chance to Win a $500 Breast Cancer Donation in Your Name!

As you all know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and I'm thrilled to offer you a chance to win a wonderful prize for a great cause: a $500 donation in your name to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure foundation. Since breast cancer doesn't discriminate, it's important for all of us to educate ourselves and do our part to raise awareness and support to help fight this disease.

To test your knowledge and learn some helpful information about breast cancer, take my quiz below. One lucky reader will win a $500 dollar donation in her name to the world's largest and most progressive grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists. Your eligibility is not based on getting the answers correct, just by completing the quiz once you are logged in. You do, however, need to be a TeamSugar member, and you must log in before taking the quiz. If you're not already a member, register here for an account. One quiz entry per person, as all repeat quizzes will be ignored. The contest is open to US residents only and ends Oct. 20 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Click here for official rules. Enjoy and good luck!

my mum died of breast cancer and everyday is a day to give back to the hope that more and more survivors will make it against this disease. thanks TeamSugar for making this pledge and for helping spread the word of this organization. 4/4 am not always pleased to know so much about this subject - but knowing is a start in the battle right?

Hey, to everyone who is so excited about donating, even if you don't win, you CAN donate! While we can't all make $500 donations, we can support the causes meaningful to us. My grandma and great-grandma both had breast cancer, and twice I participated in the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk. I made t-shirt to sell in front of Walmart and at the highschool, and baked cookies endlessly to have 4 weeks of bakesales in front of Walmart. In total I ended up raising over $7,000 for the cause. Sure, you might not have time to undertake something as big as that, but you can support the people who do! If you don't know someone who is raising money for your cause, you can donate directly to the organization. Or, in cases like the Race for the Cure or 3Day Walk, you can get on their website and search the participants. Pick a random team and give them a surprise $5 donation! It will make their day to see that someone they don't even know is giving to the cause and helping them reach their own goal.

My mother is a 10 year breast cancer survivor, I'm so grateful she's still with me! Thanks for helping spread awareness of this disease that's touched so many lives.

Would be so nice to have this donation in my name. My aunt and mother are both breast cancer survivors.

Totally agree with lsista and k8 rckstr. Go blog on a separate post if you want to preach about your beliefs. Don't donate ElizabethRae, since you're so "vehemently opposed". You may think you're being "responsible," but I still think it's sad.

I'm ashamed to have done so poorly. I thought I knew a lot about breast cancer, but this is good incentive to do some research, especially during breast cancer awareness month when so much information is readily available.

I know heart disease remains the number one killer of women, but tell that to the three titanium plugs in my breast left from my biopsy. Without breast cancer research, no one would have looked twice at my mammogram. So, thank you Dear, for making this donation in anyone's name!
