"This Lollipop Is Following Me" on The Electric Company

Saturday Morning Cartoon: The Lollipop From Lollihell

Adults weren't the only ones affected by the drugs and hallucinogenic escapades that made the '70s so far out. Watch this sketch from a PBS children's program called The Electric Company. As if kids didn't have enough to be scared of— the dark, the toilet monster, the post-rehab, dancing Elmo — this sketch added stalker-crazed, anthropomorphic lollipops to the list. A gaggle of writers were trippin' on the job, methinks. But too much paranoia never hurt anyone anyway.
