People have sex for all sorts of reasons: to gain experience, improve self-esteem, have fun, cure boredom, barter goods or favors, make up after a fight, express gratitude, and, if we're being realistic, earn a living. But a new study found no sex is quite like sex that expresses love and commitment.
Like pretty much all studies, this one used college students, who are often seen as drawbacks, as its subjects. But considering college-age people are most likely to be experimenting and having sex for "other" reasons, I'd say it's remarkable they value love and commitment. On the other hand, maybe they put it on a pedestal because they're not having it? Ask couples who've been married for 20 years what sex is best, and you might get another answer.
