Notre Dame star football player Manti Te'o continues to claim he was the victim of a hoax, which came to light last week when it was uncovered that his supposed girlfriend who recently died of leukemia never actually existed. Even so, Manti told Katie Couric that he did initially perpetuate the lie to the press when he first found out that his dead girlfriend wasn't real. Katie got tough with Manti, asking him why he stuck to the script about the elaborate story that captured the media's attention. Manti said, "Katie, put yourself in my situation." He went on to say that up until December, he really was duped and in love with his "online girlfriend," who turned out to be nonexistent. Watch a preview of the interview now.
