McCain on Bringing Back Draft: "I Don't Disagree" Today at a townhall meeting, an audience member praised Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) for his vow to "follow bin Laden to the gates of hell." After a lengthy question, he was asked, "if we don't reenact the draft, I don't think we'll have anyone to chase Bin Laden to the gates of hell." McCain answered, "ma'am, let me say that I don't disagree with anything you said."

I think we really only started the movie thing close to the end of the semester...but that's the one thing that stands out about that class.

And in my AP Eng. class in high school we would read a play or book and then watch the movie. That was it. And we got college credit for it. :oy: Needless to say, it did NOT prepare us for college. Of course, none of my high school classes did.

Yeah, it was a cutout!

OK. This is not Disney-related. But remember Three Men and a Baby? Was that ghost in the window thing ever solved?

Wow bluesarahlou, your English class seemed fun! Haha how did he we start talking about Disney movies in this thread? Not that I have a problem with that, I am a big Disney buff and I've heard all of the conspiracies. Did you see "S-E-X" written in the stars during Lion King? That's a popular one to point out.

We'd have to write a one page paper on every movie. But really, that's not much of a challenge! At least it shouldn't be by the time you graduate high school :?

I loved classes where they had you spend entire periods (or a couple of periods) watching movies! :D

Oh that's funny, I never knew the back story...just that someone was sayin somethin nasty in the Disney movie! I actually watched it in my senior year english class in high school. The teacher kept rewinding over and over again so everyone could hear. We also watched Easy Rider. Easiest english class ever!

And on the original release boxes for the video of little mermaid, one of the spires on the mermaid castle is a very obvious penis. There is something in the lion king too.

That's forkin' creepy! No wonder my mom never let me watch Disney movies as a kid!

It wasn't Robin Williams. It was some editor's intern. And it says, "Viewers take off your clothes." Day before yesterday I was watching it with my daughter and my husband came home right at that part. Where aladin is with Jasmine on the balcony. I was like here is that part. And he had never heard it before so we listened. It is most definately there. Same with the raging erection on the priest in Little Mermaid.

I say that all the time now. It doesn't work here either.

Aladdin!! :woohoo: I remember watching that movie with my friends, and trying desperately to determine if Robin Williams really DID say "Girls take off your pants" or something along those lines...haha

"Hey look! It's not often that you see a horse with two rear ends!!" ;) (Name the movie)

Yeah, but that's better than a destructive one.

For some reason, I remember that her horse was kind of an egotistical ass?

Thanks miss, and yes the "terrorist" remark was in response to Judes, and completely in jest. :)

Thanks UD. It was nice to see you didn't say you are voting for him just because he is not Obama. I am going to assume your terrorist remark was just in good humor. It is much easier to respect others reasoning when you can see from their pov.

Oh yeah, and so-and-so is a terrorist. ;)

UD, I have to say how refreshing it is to hear someone be able to articulate rational and thought-out reasons (policy-based reasons) for their support of a candidate (instead of, you know, "So-and-So Is A Secret Terrorist" or whatever). I may not agree with you, but I can respect your reasoning :)

What brings me mostly to McCain is my lack of confidence in Obama. As I have said above, he doesn't have a clue on how to fund his National Health Insurance (This is also personal, because his NHI program will put me out of business. "Why do I need to buy/provide health for my employees when they can get it from the government?") I don't like the people Obama has been associated with for the past 30 years. I do like that McCain is direct. He doesn't try to weasel around the question, and overthink the question. He answers what you ask, and doesn't try to read anything into the question. I understand that some people consider that being thoughtful, but I look at it as trying to find a way to get around the question.
