McCain Ran 1,304 Ads Day Campaign "Suspended" Turns out John McCain never did quite "suspend" his campaign during negotiations over the federal bailout plan, at least on television. "The McCain campaign cut back on its television advertising in the days following McCain's announcement that he was suspending his campaign to focus on the economy. On Sept. 24, his campaign aired 2,447 ads, and on Sept. 25, it aired 1,304 ads."

I believe he and his people said taking ads off tv would be part of the campaign suspension. If he was able to keep all negative ads from airing on the night Obama accepted the nomination, he should have been able to pull the ads while his campaign was "suspended" But the suspension was just a stunt and why pull your ads off the air for a stunt?

Not having someone in the campaign defeated the purpose of announcing a suspension.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of working on something else?

So he was supposed to call every television affiliate and cancel the ads?

And what exactly did he do on his campaign days off? Was his part in this bailout that important and vital? I think he did it for show--just my opinion..

He didn't give up on Michigan either. According to ad #'s released, he spent $720K last week, versus spending $292K the previous week. Good thing his motto isn't "I Cannot Tell a Lie".
