Military families dreaming of a White House Christmas got their wish last night as Michelle Obama hosted them for a tree trimming and cooking decorating party last night. Blue Star and Gold Star families, who either have family members currently serving or have lost family members in service, were the first to get a look at the White House Christmas tree. Michelle invited the children to decorate cookies with the White House chefs and the in-house florist helped with holiday crafts.
Visitors to the White House during the holiday season will be able to write and send notes to troops overseas, and this year's decorations honor military families. But Bo the first dog is also used for decoration inspiration, as there are miniature Bo ornaments around the place, as well as life-sized Bo creations made of felt. See photos of the adorable celebrations now.
