Last night at the Emmys, actors from one of our favorite onscreen couples, the Dunphys from Modern Family, each took home an Emmy. Julie Bowen, who plays strict mom Claire Dunphy, won for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series while Ty Burrell, who plays her onscreen goofy husband and a self-proclaimed "cool dad" Phil Dunphy, won for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series. In the press room, Ty Burrell got personal, praising both his TV and actual wife. He said:
"I have the benefit of having a fake wife and a real wife. I get my nerves soothed by both of them. We basically get together and lean on each other and figure it out. My actual wife is a saint who comes from a long, long line of saints."
Julie interrupted Ty to call his wife her "sister wife." Ty and his real wife, Holly, have been married since 2000 and adopted a little girl, Frances, last year. Sounds like an adorable modern family to me.
