New MoveOn Iraq Ad: "Timeline"
MoveOn is rolling out a new Iraq-focused ad called "Timeline." The spot makes a clear contrast — Obama wants a timetable to get troops out of Iraq, John McCain doesn't. But the timing, music, and visuals are unconventional — it's certainly not your typical political ad. The RNC responds: "MoveOn.org is repaying Barack Obama for his ideological position on Iraq by running ads that ignore the improving situation in Iraq."

I think it is a matter of priorities. Iraq isn't a threat to the US so much as what is happening in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Thanks for the correction. The point is, no matter what the situation, he wants us out of Iraq, even if events don't necessarily show the benefit of a complete withdrawal.

He didn't say that there is nothing that can be done to stablize Iraq. He has said that political progress within the country needed to be made to stablize Iraq.

It looks very much like a 542 hit job. Nevermind what is going on in Iraq, let's just get our people out. I found it interesting that Obama has said: "There is no way we can stabilize Iraq, we need to get our people out." Then: "The surge isn't going to solve anything, we need to get our people out." and now: "The surge has reduced the levels of violence, and now we should get our people out." Completely ignore what is going on, but have the same oppinion.

Why would they say this isn't a typical political ad? Looks pretty standard.
