Obama Says McCain Offers "Willful Ignorance"

Obama Says McCain Offers "Willful Ignorance" Democrat Barack Obama said Tuesday that Republican John McCain is offering little more than "willful ignorance, wishful thinking, outdated ideology" to an economy in crisis, seeking to capitalize on the main issue that is propelling him forward in the race for the White House. "While President Bush and Sen. McCain were ready to move heaven and earth to address the crisis on Wall Street, the president has failed so far to address the crisis on Main Street, and Sen. McCain has failed to fully acknowledge it."

I think that the description is fitting. McCain, for example, keeps spouting off about Joe the Plumber, when really Obama's plan would give him tax CUTS. McCain knows his own plan isn't directed at the Plumbers of the country, and yet he constantly exploits this man in an attempt to mislead the public. McCain's policies do not help out the middle and lower classes, and yet he pretends to be their savior.

"Kill Him"Again -- there is video on it at Youtube.com -- I think I proved that yesterday.BUT - there is CLEAR proof of an Obama ghost hung from a tree -- so -- that's pretty much like saying "kill him" to me.

GS they found no evidence from an incident in PA. But the initial reporting said it happened in Florida. Those claims have not been disproved and are still being investigated.

You realize the "kill him" thing is unsubstantiated, right? The secret service is even on it and can't find any proof.

Thanks for clearing that up so it's something McCain does too? i.e. with the Ayers stuff even though he claims he's a washed up Terroirst and not worth it his campaign still sends out Ayers robo calls or the fact that people are yelling out "kill him" in rallies but he is focused on what someone says about him? Willful Ignorance??

I don't know about that: often a candidate knows that his policies favor his financial donors to the detriment to some of his less well off constituents... the candidate then steers clear of any kind of gathering where some of those unfortunate constituents will be so that he doesn't have to hear how unhappy they are or exactly how they've been harmed. That's willful ignorance, and that's done all the time. You choose not to hear, see or acknowledge that which won't reflect well on your campaign.

I highly doubt that Obama or McCain wish to purposefully not know something. That "Willful Ignorance" characterization is just silly.

Well, "willful ignorance, wishful thinking, outdated ideology" have characterized much of the campaign, so I don't see why they'd be expected to behave differently about the economy ;)
