Overweight and does nothing about it

Dear Sugar
I have an overweight friend who constantly complains about her body. I try and get her to join me at the gym and meet me for healthy meals but she insists on staying at home, watching reruns and eating junk food. I have to work to maintain my size 8 so I get frustrated with her easily. What can I say to her when she talks to me about feeling fat? --Chubby Chum

Dear Chubby Chum
I just want to say that if you are a size 8, I doubt you are chubby. You should be proud of yourself. Eating right and exercising regularly takes self-control and discipline. You have a right to feel frustrated with your pal. She obviously lacks both of these qualities. By asking her to join your healthy habits you are being a good friend. If she asks you if she is fat, tell her that she is. Also add that you don't care what she looks like, but you do care about her health. Hopefully, she'll put down the Haagen Dazs and put on her jogging shoes. Being her gym buddy is a great way to show you care.
