Paris Hilton Ad Helped Internet Fundraising, McCain Campaign Says

Paris Hilton Ad Helped Internet Fundraising, McCain Campaign Says On a Friday morning conference call with reporters, McCain campaign manager Rick Davis revealed that the Republican nominee pulled in approximately $27 million in July. But Davis also gave a hint that the August numbers — which will be released next month — should shape up well, too, in part because of the infamous Paris Hilton/Britney Spears "Celeb" ad that drew so much media attention last month after Barack Obama's world trip.

>Seriousily, what sort of legislation has Obama authored? What sort of corporation has Obama ran? What military experience does Obama have? I don't believe the president authors legislation, does he? And McCain hasn't run a corporation, either. Regarding military experience, I agree with stephley. While his military service was honorable, being a POW and serving on the ground does not give you any kind of experience similar to being commander in chief. Even my dad, hardcore career military republican, thinks the "experience" debate is moot: the only experience anything like being the president is, well, being the president! And the only people with that experience are no longer eligible for the job.

Dave, those questions and more have been answered repeatedly in these threads - I imagine poor Jill's fingers are nubs from all she's done. If you don't like him, fine - but 'none, none and none' is an unfair lie. McCain's never run a corporation or held a corporate job; his military experience is decades old and while he behaved admirably as a prisoner, his only command experience is about a year with a Navy air squadron in 1976; then he served as the Navy's liasson to the Senate. He's no Eisenhower.

You think McCain is about glamour too? That's interesting. Seriousily, what sort of legislation has Obama authored? What sort of corporation has Obama ran? What military experience does Obama have? The answer is none, none, and none. He's spent his Senatorial career campaigning for the presidency. That doesn't qualify as any experience.

IMO, the substance and glamour belong to the same person.

"We all" know this, huh? I would beg to differ.I'm glad to hear your opinion but to assume that it's universally accepted fact is a little much.

Who cares? Let's get some substance. We all know who has more experience, and we all know who has the "glamour". What do we want out of our president, glamour or substance?

This ad also helped Obama's fundraising efforts.

Oh, and a lot of those YouTube hits were probably people showing it to their friends, saying, "Look how stupid this is."

That ad was so silly, and I find it irritating that his campaign continues to talk about it. :OY:

They seemed to have reworked the ad and taken out the paris and britney parts... that new ad doesn't bother me as much, even though its still inflammatory.

Yeah, I agree cabaker. Those guys are pretty smart though. I assume they knew what they were doing when they put them out.
